Good morning, darling tutu enthusiasts! 🎀
Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger, and I'm thrilled to be back in the heart of New York City for another dazzling week. After a whirlwind performance with the Derbyshire Ballet Company back in the UK, I'm absolutely buzzing to be back amongst the towering skyscrapers and buzzing streets of this incredible city.
As you all know, Monday is #PinkTutuBlogNYC day, which means it's time for another glimpse into my adventures, complete with all the fabulous fashion, fantastic food and of course, my favourite pink tutu!
A City that Never Sleeps, and Neither Do I
I arrived last night, straight off the plane from a performance in Manchester. Honestly, I can’t think of a better way to kickstart a new week than by waking up in New York City. The energy here is electric – just the way I like it! The bright lights of Times Square greeted me like an old friend, and I knew immediately that I was home.
And by “home,” I of course mean "a city overflowing with culture, delicious food, and endless shopping opportunities!" My wardrobe is screaming for an update, and with a twinkle in my eye, I already have a few boutiques and department stores on my shopping list!
Tutu and Tea on Fifth Avenue
I always like to get my day off to a stylish start, so naturally, my morning involved a delightful breakfast of scones and tea, served with a side of New York fashion inspiration! I took a stroll down Fifth Avenue, enjoying the crisp autumn air and the vibrant displays of some of my favourite stores. Of course, I had to snap some pics for you all - just look at the sunshine catching the tulle of my brand new pink tutu, the perfect accessory to my morning outing! (Did you know that this one is a one-of-a-kink custom creation? It sparkles just the right amount for that ultimate girly glamour!)
* Ballet Dreams in a City That Knows Ballet*
Today's schedule has been meticulously planned - I just can’t get enough of New York's vibrant arts scene. And this afternoon I have a date with a dream... a matinee performance of "Swan Lake" at the Lincoln Center. There’s simply nothing like a grand ballet performance in a majestic setting, the incredible costumes, the breathtaking choreography – my heart always leaps with joy whenever I experience a performance like this. (Don’t worry, darling tutu enthusiasts, I'll be writing a detailed review for you all very soon, complete with stunning pictures from the show!) 🩰
Tutu-tastic Shopping Therapy
The evening beckons, and it's time for some serious retail therapy. Oh, the shops in New York, they’re an absolute dream! I can't help myself – it's my job, you know, to keep my blog followers updated on the latest fashion trends. (I'm always searching for the next fabulous pink tutu!).
The Best Food on Earth - New York's Food Scene
My day will be finished with an equally luxurious culinary experience, a treat for the senses that is New York’s amazing food scene. From the legendary bagel shops to those sophisticated Italian trattorias, this city knows how to tempt the taste buds. I can't wait for the perfectly-seasoned spaghetti, the tangy tang of fresh bagels and maybe a delicious scoop of New York style ice-cream… oh, what will it be?!
Subway Surfing, Tutu-Style!
As always, I'm loving my jaunts on the subway. They’re not only the best way to navigate the city, but they also provide me with ample opportunities for spontaneous photo shoots. Think: dazzling reflections, stunning city lights, and yes, you guessed it – me, twirling in my tutu! (Watch out for the "Subway Tutu-style" photos I'll be posting!)
The Magic of New York City
To anyone thinking of visiting New York, I urge you to embrace the chaos, the energy, the dazzling sights and sounds, and don’t forget your dancing shoes – the city is bursting with musical theatre and ballet performances, a beautiful backdrop for all your pink tutu desires! 🩰
