#PinkTutuBlogNYC - Post #1120 - A Twirl Through The City That Never Sleeps!

Hey darlings! It's Emma, your pink tutu-wearing guide to all things fabulous! I'm back in New York City, the ultimate playground for a ballerina like me. And let me tell you, this trip is already spinning with excitement! āœØ

This week's #PinkTutuBlogNYC is all about exploring this amazing city, experiencing the buzz of Broadway, falling head over heels for the latest fashion finds, and yes, you guessed it - a whole lot of twirling!

Now, I know some of you are wondering how I manage to fund these fab adventures. Well, it's all thanks to my favourite thing in the world - ballet! šŸ©° I perform as a guest artist with various companies around the world, and this trip was sponsored by a wonderful production in the Big Apple. So, itā€™s the perfect excuse to ditch Derbyshire for a little while and embrace the big city vibes.

Tuesday: The Dance Begins

I landed in NYC on Tuesday, a whirlwind of excitement, fuelled by anticipation for the cityā€™s unique energy. And wouldn't you know it, even the subway was in the mood for a dance. There I was, squeezed into a carriage alongside fellow New Yorkers, all decked out in a pastel pink tutu (of course!) when this lovely lady starts humming along to some hip hop beats. The beat was contagious, and next thing I know, we were both bobbing our heads, our tutus twirling, all in perfect time to the music. Talk about an impromptu street performance!

Wednesday: Fashion Fix

Wednesday was all about feeding my inner shopaholic. The city is an absolute haven for fashion, with boutiques around every corner. I indulged in a little retail therapy on Fifth Avenue, where I snagged a stunning ruby red handbag with a glitzy silver chain, perfectly complementing the ruby red silk tutu I wore for the occasion! Oh, the thrill of finding a new piece that just shouts 'me'! I may have gone a tad overboard in the shoes department too ā€“ canā€™t help it! Who could resist those gorgeous cherry blossom-patterned pumps at that chic little shop on Bleecker Street?

Thursday: The Broadway Buzz

Broadway! My oh my! This is what I'd been waiting for ā€“ the buzz, the energy, the incredible artistry! Iā€™d bagged tickets to ā€œHamiltonā€ for weeks before and let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed. From the music to the costumes, the energy just filled the entire theatre, and even though I was watching the performance through a veil of happy tears (seriously, I was emotional!), I couldn't help but steal a peek at the audience. Every face in the theatre was a mirror reflecting the magic on stage.

Afterwards, I went for a lovely dinner in the theatre district, my cheeks still rosy from the performance. Iā€™d opted for a flowy, emerald green dress and paired it with a soft pink, pearl-encrusted tutu. The contrast, paired with a splash of bright lipstick, perfectly reflected the vibrancy of the evening. I felt like a little fairytale princess - who wouldn't with such magic in the air!

Friday: Class & Culture

Being in New York means immersing yourself in its rich cultural fabric, and Friday gave me the perfect opportunity to do just that. I had been planning a trip to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) for weeks and couldn't wait to see the masterpieces. My favourite part, by far, was the surrealist art collection. I'm a huge fan of artists who express the impossible and challenge reality. There's a raw beauty in their creations that resonates with me. And, just when I thought I couldnā€™t be more impressed, I discovered the ballet studio tucked away within the museum. You wonā€™t find that in just any museum, and of course, I couldnā€™t resist the temptation to get my dance shoes on and do a quick ballet warm-up before indulging in a delicious cup of chai at a cozy cafĆ© in the museum grounds. Itā€™s moments like this, tucked away amidst the city's art scene, where I really feel like Iā€™m truly living!

Saturday: A Waltz in Central Park

A weekend in New York without a stroll in Central Park is simply a no-no! The weather was gloriously sunny, so I opted for a playful, vibrant fuchsia pink tutu, adorned with delicate feathers that rustled in the gentle breeze. And, with a pink beret on my head, I was a vision of sweetness and Parisian chic. I decided to indulge in one of the little white boats and enjoyed a relaxing ride across the tranquil lake. Watching the city unfold around me was a wonderful escape from the bustling city streets. It was a reminder of the beauty in slowing down, taking a moment to breath and be present in the moment, surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Sunday: Broadway Dreaming

Today was another Broadway adventure, and this time I took a friend from back home. She had never seen a Broadway performance, and it was truly inspiring to share the experience with her. The performance was ā€œWickedā€ - I knew it would be an incredible experience! As expected, it lived up to every ounce of my anticipation. From the powerful songs to the stunning stage designs, every aspect was a feast for the senses. Afterwards, we celebrated with an after-show brunch. What else do you do after watching pure magic? I dressed in a shimmery lavender tutu that perfectly mirrored the whimsical atmosphere of the show, finishing it off with a stylish lavender feather boa. The combo just made my friendā€™s eyes widen - she couldn't believe how effortlessly my tutu paired with almost any outfit!

Monday: Back to the Pink Tutu

I'm back home now, feeling both refreshed and invigorated after a whirlwind of a week in New York City. As I sit here writing this post, I can still feel the excitement of the past week - it truly has been one of my best ever trips. And, yes, it's been just as fabulous as you imagined.

Of course, I wore my tutu everywhere I went - itā€™s just a part of me, as much as my love for dance. My ultimate dream is for everyone to feel comfortable expressing themselves with the vibrant beauty of a pink tutu. What are you waiting for? It's time to let your inner ballerina shine!

So, what did you think of my New York adventure? Did my picks for tutus inspire your fashion choices? I love hearing from you so drop a comment below! And remember, stay fabulous, my darlings! Until next weekā€¦
