Oh my, you guys wouldn't believe the whirlwind of a weekend I've just had. I know I've mentioned before how much I adore this city, with its boundless energy and endless possibilities - but this trip has truly surpassed even my wildest dreams.
Firstly, I've gotta share my absolutely stunning, unforgettable evening at the New York City Ballet at the Lincoln Center. 🎻 This was no ordinary ballet show, no, my dears! We're talking about the most spectacular costumes, mind-blowing choreography, and breathtaking artistry. I felt like I was transported to a magical fairytale world! The elegance of the dancers, the grace of their movements, it left me utterly speechless. I may have even shed a tear or two. Just wait till you see the photos I've taken - I think they capture the pure joy and beauty of the evening perfectly. 🥰
A City Built For Ballet Lovers
Speaking of dance, I had to take full advantage of my time in the city by taking a ballet class at the Steps on Broadway. Can I tell you? It was simply divine! From the moment I stepped into the studio, I felt the electricity, the creative energy that thrummed through every corner. I had the best teacher - she had a heart of gold and a way of guiding us, helping us understand and connect with our bodies like never before. Even with other dancers who were far more experienced than me, I felt totally comfortable, totally embraced.
One thing I noticed about the dancers here in New York, it's a completely different atmosphere than in England, don't you think? It feels more relaxed, more inclusive. Here, people aren't afraid to just express themselves, no matter their skill level. I mean, come on, even in my favourite tutus (oh yes, I did wear a pink one for the class - just had to!) I was welcomed with open arms. This, to me, is the magic of New York: embracing diversity, encouraging everyone to shine, just like a star in the Broadway theatre lights! ✨
A Fashion Spree, With a Twist!
After the invigorating dance session, it was time for something completely different: a little retail therapy! Now, darling, you all know my penchant for all things pink, but trust me, this shopping spree was a total revelation! Let me just say, it was more than your average walk down Fifth Avenue!
I've stumbled upon a new-found love - Vintage Ballet Shoes! Oh my, I’m in a total fashion heaven! I just can't get over the stories these shoes could tell! I'm already planning to create a little Instagram gallery about these beauties. Think, delicate leather straps, beautifully aged ribbons, and toes that have seen countless pirouettes. They whisper of bygone eras of dancers and dance, a beautiful reminder of the magic that is ballet.
And you know me, a girly girl like me can't resist a pretty, girly shop. Oh, the fabulous Pink-a-licious Boutiques I've discovered in Greenwich Village. You can't go past these delightful spots, they have absolutely EVERYTHING in pink: dresses, shoes, accessories, even hair accessories! Every colour of pink, even that gorgeous shade of blushing rose. It was enough to make even the most seasoned fashionista swoon!
And let's not forget the wonderful restaurants and cafes that pepper this vibrant city! I just love exploring the local food scene, trying all those tempting delights. From juicy slices of New York-style pizza, to bagels that could make you cry with joy, there’s truly something for everyone’s taste buds! It wouldn't be a proper trip to NYC without a Sunday Brunch with friends. I even indulged in a delightful, girly brunch with some fellow ballerina friends I made at the Steps on Broadway class. They all wore cute, tutu-esque skirts and even let me take a few photos. You bet they were on Instagram by the afternoon, inspiring everyone else to take up their inner ballerina!
Finding the Perfect Outfit
Now, as you can see, my outfit today has to incorporate all the fun I’ve experienced in New York: a splash of pink, of course! A darling pink top, perfect for a romantic date or a night at the ballet!
But there's a surprise! The most important part? My New York tutu! It's got this magical sparkle that just glows under the bright city lights, like a tiny bit of Broadway magic itself. I added a delicate, shimmery necklace and cute ballerina flats for a hint of graceful, whimsical elegance. Don't you think? I’m really thinking this outfit would be perfect for my next Broadway show - it certainly feels like a pink stage costume! ✨
Riding the Subway: Tutu-ing Around the City
For a bit of travel inspiration, let me share my experience riding the NYC subway. There’s nothing quite like the energy and vibrant diversity that fills these underground tunnels, transporting me to the very heart of the city. I find myself taking photos and sketching in my notebook as we zoom past underground stations. It’s like observing an art form of humanity and city living all rolled up in one!
Don't worry, my fellow tutu enthusiasts, I did have a few smiles and compliments for wearing my favourite accessory on my journey. You wouldn't believe how many people were intrigued by the twirling tutus - it truly does spark joy and light up the day of others. My motto? "Spread the Pink Tutu Love! " 💗

The sheer magic of this city, the vibrant pulse of Broadway, the inspiring energy of dance, the twinkling, delicious restaurants. All combined with a touch of ballerina bliss, sprinkled with a bit of fashion indulgence. It's the recipe for a perfect NYC experience.
