Pink Tutu Blog: New York City Adventures - Post #1266

Hello darlings!

This week finds me twirling my way through the streets of the Big Apple, a vision in pink tulle, naturally. New York City! What an absolute dream it is to be here again. As I write this, the scent of hot dogs and popcorn fills the air from a vendor on the street below my window at the fabulously pink (of course!) Hotel Elysee.

The first thing that hit me upon my arrival was the energy – a frenetic buzz that only New York City can produce. I landed at JFK Airport, and the moment I stepped out into the taxi queue, I was whisked into a whirlwind of cabs, sirens, and hurrying feet. I absolutely adore it. There’s nothing like the feeling of being completely absorbed by a city that never sleeps, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

My week in New York began on a glorious, sun-drenched Saturday with a treat – ballet class! I headed straight to the Steps on Broadway studio for an absolutely exhilarating, energy-boosting session. Honestly, there’s nothing like a good ballet class to work out those muscles and unleash your inner grace, and this class was no exception. My pink tutu felt like a badge of honour as I practiced my arabesques and fouetté turns.

On Sunday, the energy levels were ramped up even higher. You know my motto - every trip needs a trip to Broadway, so naturally, I took in "Wicked" last night. This iconic musical remains an absolute must-see for any theatre-lover like myself, and every time I see it, I find myself marveling at the incredible storytelling, costumes, and talent on stage.

Speaking of incredible, have I told you about the stunning vintage Dior dress I managed to snaffle in a little boutique in the West Village? It's a dreamy piece of powder-blue silk, complete with delicate lace details. Let's just say I am beyond thrilled to be adding this beauty to my ever-growing wardrobe. Oh, the joys of shopping in New York City!

The whole shopping experience here is just utterly captivating. The hustle and bustle, the discovery of hidden gems, the sheer variety... I find myself completely enthralled. From the upscale department stores of Fifth Avenue to the charming boutiques tucked away in Greenwich Village, the possibilities for finding a treasure are endless. I love being able to blend my love of vintage finds with modern pieces.

Naturally, a girl can't go shopping in New York City without treating herself to a truly indulgent treat. And by treat, I mean a scrumptious, pink-tinted cupcake at Magnolia Bakery! What can I say? The pink frosting was so perfectly smooth, it was practically calling my name.

I've also spent my time navigating the city's incredibly efficient and fast-paced subway system. The iconic subway car design takes me back to classic black-and-white movies. It's a whirlwind experience to be sure, but I wouldn't have it any other way. And with each journey, my love for the Big Apple grows ever deeper.

The true beauty of New York City lies in the small moments: the laughter echoing off the walls in a coffee shop on Bleecker Street, the aroma of street food wafting from a vendor's stall, the hushed anticipation before a curtain rises in a grand Broadway theatre, the joyous chaos of Times Square.

Speaking of joyous chaos, I managed to snag a pair of tickets to see “Moulin Rouge!” It’s pure entertainment, with incredible costumes, an enchanting score, and heart-pumping choreography. I'm a sucker for a good show and this one certainly lived up to the hype.

This whole experience is all about embracing the vibrant spirit of New York City, and the best part is that I’m already planning my next adventure. I can't wait to come back again! Until then, you can catch up on my adventures on my website www.pink-tutu.com - I promise to keep you all up to date!

Stay stylish, stay happy, and remember – always wear a pink tutu!

Lots of love,

Emma x
