#PinkTutuBlogNYC - Monday 14th October 2019: Dancing Dreams in the Big Apple

Hello my darling tutus!

Welcome back to #PinkTutuBlogNYC, your weekly dose of pink-hued fun, fabulous fashion, and everything sparkly from the heart of New York City! It's your girl Emma here, writing to you from a tiny, twirling corner of Manhattan. Today marks a special occasion, it's post number 1271! Can you believe it?!

I’ve been bouncing around this magnificent city like a sugar plum fairy for a whole week now, and I have to say, New York is truly a city that never sleeps, even when the world’s best ballerinas are pirouetting in its iconic theaters!

Fashion Finds and Furious Shopping

I always find a bit of magic in every new city I visit, especially in the shopping districts. This week, I’ve been absolutely drowning in silks and sequins! Just stepping into Bergdorf Goodman on Fifth Avenue makes me feel like a fairytale princess (only, with a slightly bolder sense of style!).

You know me, I love a classic silhouette, a delicate drape, and a generous sprinkling of pink! I couldn’t resist snapping up a beautiful blush-toned midi dress from Tory Burch, its perfect for twirling around Central Park with a cup of tea. And for the evening? Well, I treated myself to a shimmering lilac sequined top from the Marc Jacobs boutique, because you can never have too many sparkles, right? I think it will look particularly fetching paired with my go-to tutu for a night at the theater! I can practically see myself twirling under the magnificent chandelier at the Metropolitan Opera, just waiting for my cue!

Ballet Bliss at Lincoln Center

This week’s ballet highlight was definitely the American Ballet Theatre's performance of Swan Lake at the David H. Koch Theater. My darling tutus, the artistry of those dancers was truly something else. I have to say, watching them soar across the stage made me want to trade my little pink tutu for a white one! They're the best in the world for a reason, I swear the whole stage seemed to dance! Their costumes, their stories, the entire experience felt like an enchanting dream come true. Let's just say, there was not a dry eye in the house (except perhaps my own - I have the biggest mascara allergies in the world!)

Speaking of magical performances, there are also countless free performances happening all over the city! The little square near our hotel was buzzing with live music and dancers one afternoon. It’s this vibrancy and sense of community that really makes NYC special! My little pink tutu even became part of the fun. I spent a joyful afternoon spinning with a group of little dancers – they absolutely loved my tulle, and honestly, it was so heartwarming to share a little pink magic! Who knew my beloved tutu was a universal language?

Metropolitan Metro Madness

I've been doing a lot of exploring on the New York City Metro. It's quite an experience, I tell you! I even tried to coordinate my outfits with my Metro adventures - you should've seen me waltzing down the platforms in my sparkly midi dress! Everyone definitely knew a dancing princess was aboard! It’s really just a great way to navigate this giant, wonderful city, especially for a solo traveler like myself. I actually feel quite confident using the metro, you get so used to its little rhythms, the flashing lights, the announcements...

City Escapes: Central Park & The Top of the Rock

What would a trip to New York City be without a visit to Central Park? It's a magical escape from the bustling city, and my tutu got its fair share of spins and twirls amidst the vibrant autumn colours. I even met a group of friendly pups! One particular fluffy Pomeranian seemed utterly charmed by my sparkly pink skirt and tried his hardest to chase me down in a cloud of soft barks!

This past weekend, I also spent a good hour admiring the city’s spectacular views from the Top of the Rock. The twinkling cityscape stretched before me, like a million stars illuminating the dark night. And you know what? I didn't feel like I was looking down at New York – I felt like I was floating in it, right there in the middle of all those vibrant lights, as though I belonged to the whole shimmering skyline!

A Piece of My Heart Belongs to NYC

So here I am, a tiny pink ballerina in a vast, magnificent city. It's been another week of wonder, and this little pink tutu has a heart full of pink glitter! I just can't wait to see what next week has in store! Remember, you can keep up with all of my pink tutu adventures here on www.pink-tutu.com. I post my New York blog every Monday! I promise I’ll have plenty of dazzling pictures and sparkly stories for you, right here!

Until next time, darlings, remember that life’s a stage, and we all have the chance to wear a little pink magic! And please, don’t forget to tell everyone in the world to grab a pink tutu and let loose their inner ballerina.

Lots of twirls and love,

Emma
