#PinkTutuBlogNYC: New York City - Monday 2023-08-28, Post 1473

Hello darlings! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, #PinkTutuBlogNYC. This week, I’m dancing through the vibrant streets of the Big Apple, and I’ve got so much to tell you about my latest adventures. As always, you can find me over on my main site, www.pink-tutu.com, where I post weekly, every Monday.

A Bit of Backstory

Now, as many of you know, I’m a little bit obsessed with pink and tutus. I guess you could say it's a lifestyle choice, one I wear proudly. This passion, alongside a love for ballet, fuels my travelling adventures, and my adventures fund my dancing passions! So, it’s a wonderful, whimsical circle of life, really.

After my whirlwind trip to Paris, it was time to head stateside and soak up some of that iconic New York energy. As soon as I touched down, I knew I was in the right place. That hustle and bustle, those iconic skyscrapers, that undeniable energy! The whole city just pulsates with a certain joie de vivre. And guess what? I'm determined to share some of that energy with all of you.

A Day in Tutu-licious New York City

Today is all about exploration! I've decided to spend the day in the heart of the city. So, naturally, that meant my go-to mode of transportation was the legendary New York City subway. Now, I know what you’re thinking - can a girl in a pink tutu gracefully navigate the crowded underground? The answer is a resounding yes, with a sprinkle of flair! After all, a true ballerina can find grace in any space.

My first stop: Broadway. This place is pure magic. I am literally buzzing with the sheer energy and the history oozing from these buildings. Every inch screams out its artistic prowess, and I’m a total sucker for anything theatrical. There’s something about the air here, that makes me feel as though I could effortlessly waltz through Times Square and out of sight.

But of course, a Broadway trip isn't complete without experiencing a show. Tonight, I’m seeing a preview of the new musical, Sugar and Spice. I can’t wait to immerse myself in the story, the music, the dance. There’s something special about Broadway, the way it combines so many forms of artistic expression into something spectacularly unique.

Shopping till I Drop... In Tutu-Form!

After the show, I am on a mission - to find the perfect outfit for tomorrow’s ballet class! This is not your typical ballet class, oh no. I’ve found this charming little ballet studio in Greenwich Village that offers ‘Ballet in the Park’, which just screams fun! Now, it's time to unearth some treasures. After all, a ballerina has to dress for success.

Let me tell you, this city has some serious shopping power! My journey started at Bloomingdales. A massive department store, where I got lost in a wonderland of colours and textures. I'm not a materialistic person, but a pink tulle tutu from this store would simply be magical! I managed to leave the shop with a blush pink satin ballet bag and a new blush pink hairband – oh, and I might have fallen in love with a floral printed ballerina-style skirt, which I snagged at a surprisingly low price. Now that's what I call a bargain!

The Art of Street-Style and The City That Never Sleeps

Tomorrow, before my park ballet class, I plan to head to a cute little cafe in Greenwich Village that’s a favourite amongst local artists and creatives. Coffee and a pastry are definitely in order! And as you know, you can't have coffee and pastry without the perfect outfit. I'm talking a combination of my love for ballet with that fabulous New York City street-style! Picture this - my favourite blush pink tutu, topped with a chic vintage bomber jacket (found on my afternoon shopping trip, by the way) and my signature oversized sunhat. My favourite blush pink heels, of course, will add that perfect dose of ballerina glamour! Now, I think this look could certainly work its magic in the Big Apple!

By the way, the city never truly sleeps, and I’m excited to embrace that vibe. I plan on visiting the Whitney Museum later tonight, taking in the iconic New York skyline and maybe dancing in the street a little! You know me – it’s in my blood.

Bringing the Tutu Movement to New York

I've always felt like wearing a tutu is more than just fashion - it's a statement. A statement that we should all be bold, embrace our inner child, and express ourselves through whatever form that takes, even if it's just a little bit of twirling in the streets! I believe that everyone should wear a tutu at least once in their life. It’s an incredible feeling, like pure magic.

That said, this isn't just about a fashion trend, though. It’s about embracing joy, finding confidence, and spreading love through this silly, wonderful way of expression. And, frankly, there's no better place to do it than in the dazzling city of New York.

So, darlings, keep twirling, stay fabulous, and never stop chasing your dreams. I’ll be right here, in the city that never sleeps, sharing all my experiences and adventures with you, one #PinkTutuBlogNYC post at a time!
