Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Post #1488 - New York City Twirls!

Monday 11th December 2023

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your pink tutu-loving, New York City-exploring friend, ready to share another week's worth of adventures! And let me tell you, this past week has been utterly magical! From glittering stage lights to stylish boutiques, my New York journey has been a whirlwind of tutus, twirls and tons of fun.

This week, I'm wearing my favourite hot pink tutu with layers of tulle and shimmering silver sequins. It just feels right in New York!

A Ballet Dream at the City Center

The highlight of the week was a visit to the City Center. You know how much I love live performances! I’m a sucker for a dazzling set and those incredible, emotive, graceful dance moves! Oh, the magic! And New York, well, it's just buzzing with talent. The energy is palpable. This week I saw the "Nutcracker". It's a holiday classic that I never tire of, and this rendition was absolutely brilliant! The costumes were breathtaking, and the music had me spellbound. If you're ever in New York during the holiday season, do yourself a favour and grab tickets for the Nutcracker.

The Met's Fashion Extravaganza

On another day, I headed over to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. But this time, my love of fashion had me hopping straight over to the Costume Institute. You know how much I love exploring the history of clothing! Seeing all those incredible designs from past centuries and the gorgeous display of costumes for musicals and shows... it was mind-blowing!

I fell in love with an outfit made from shimmering blue fabric that was absolutely fit for a princess - I even managed to snap a cheeky selfie in front of it! You can find it on my Instagram. The Power of the Pink Tutu: Spreading Joy

Oh, and remember my little pink tutu mission? Yes, my ultimate aim, the dream that fuels my every dance and twirl? To spread the pink tutu joy across the world! It happened this week! I had a moment as I stepped off the subway, tutu billowing around me, and someone smiled at me with real genuine warmth and delight. "Your tutu is beautiful!" they exclaimed. Now that’s a mission worth pursuing! Just think of it, one tutu, one twirl at a time...

Exploring the Big Apple: From Broadway to Brooklyn

This week's travels also included a bit of metro-hopping (always a bit of an adventure!), which took me from the heart of Times Square to the trendy shops of Brooklyn. You guys, I just love how vibrant and eclectic the streets of New York are! There’s an energy, a spark of inspiration in every corner. Oh, and I just had to take a photo of myself in front of that iconic red “I LOVE NY” sign!

Food for the Soul:

New York, of course, is a foodie's paradise! But the real treats come from those tiny independent shops and cafes with all sorts of delights: from gourmet hot chocolate topped with marshmallows to mouth-watering New York bagels. Oh, and I discovered this divine little bakery hidden away on a side street! You could smell the delicious aromas before you even set foot in the place!

A Final Twirl

And that's a wrap for this week! As always, the biggest highlight was the incredible, vibrant and infectious energy of New York!

If you ever have a chance to come here, take a chance and make it happen. I know you'll love it! And don’t forget, if you're ever in the mood for a twirl in New York City, find me in my pink tutu. We’ll twirl together!

And remember, don’t be afraid to twirl. Be fearless. Be bold.

Until next week, happy twirling!

XOXO

Emma
