Hello darlings! It's Monday morning and that means it's time for another dose of pink-tutu-filled NYC adventures! This week, my heart is still overflowing from a weekend bursting with all things ballet and fabulous, so hold on to your tiaras and get ready for a whirl!
The City that Never Sleeps… And Neither Did I!
As you all know, I’m currently conquering New York City one tutu twirl at a time! This weekend, the city truly lived up to its nickname. After my performance Friday night at the Theatre District (thank you for all the lovely comments on my Instagram, by the way!), I felt the energy buzzing in the air - that magical feeling that only NYC can offer!
Shopping Spree Extravaganza!
Saturday morning kicked off with a whirlwind trip to SoHo. My mission: to find the most incredible, eye-catching pink tutus! Now, I know what you’re thinking – "Emma, you have enough tutus!" and you wouldn’t be wrong! But it’s simply impossible to resist a brand-new tulle dream, especially when there are so many fabulous boutiques waiting to be explored in this city! I found myself lost in a veritable tutu wonderland! From vintage tutus, shimmering with intricate beadwork, to custom-made masterpieces in the most delightful shades of pink imaginable, it was a shopping paradise. I must admit, I went a little overboard (okay, a lot!) and emerged with an array of glorious tutus. Let’s just say my luggage is feeling a little more voluminous!
Broadway Bliss
Later that afternoon, I was lucky enough to snag tickets for "Hamilton." I have been meaning to see it for ages and, let me tell you, the hype is definitely real. From the moment the lights went down, I was utterly captivated. I swear, I could have sat there and watched the whole thing again! And oh, the music! I simply adored the blend of historical fact and modern music. This was the perfect example of a show that makes your heart soar and your head spin – it was an incredible, emotional journey!
Sunday Splendour: A Ballet Feast
On Sunday morning, my toes tapped with excitement as I made my way to the legendary Lincoln Center to witness the New York City Ballet’s performance of "The Nutcracker". This is, of course, a personal favourite – there's something so wonderfully magical about this story, the costumes, and, let's be honest, the fact that there’s just so much delicious pink to feast your eyes upon! Watching those talented dancers glide across the stage, telling the story through their every move, is truly a joy to behold. I left feeling inspired and brimming with energy - enough to power through an entire week!
Metrophile Magic!
And speaking of energy, this weekend has once again reminded me how much I love travelling around the city via the subway! There's just something so cool about gliding through the tunnels beneath the city streets. I especially enjoy riding the A-line up to 125th Street; there's always something fascinating to see out the window – vibrant murals, bustling markets, the Harlem YMCA… I love observing all the unique communities and neighbourhoods of NYC – each one with its own captivating rhythm!

Tutu Tuesday at the Rink
Finally, a little peek at what’s coming up in the next week. Tomorrow evening, I’m headed to Rockefeller Center to catch a dazzling ice-skating show. I simply can’t resist a chance to be part of the festive spirit, and besides, ice-skating in a pink tutu always adds an extra dash of fabulous! So if you see a pink flash swirling on the rink, that might just be me!
