Hello lovelies! It’s Emma here, bringing you another peek into my sparkly world! Today's post marks a big milestone: a whopping 1650 posts on my blog! I can’t believe it’s been so long, and thank you all for joining me on this fabulous journey! This week, we’re skipping right over the Atlantic for a whirlwind adventure in New York City! My pink tutu is feeling more than a little excited!

I have to admit, this trip has been brewing for a while now. It’s one of those bucket list dreams I've been holding onto, hoping to make it happen. You see, New York has always held a certain magic for me, a vibrant energy that speaks to my artistic soul. The city that never sleeps is my perfect playground for twirling and spinning under the bright lights of Broadway. And what better excuse to visit than to experience the sheer joy of ballet at its finest?!
This past weekend, I had the honour of attending a performance at the New York City Ballet. The show was incredible - Swan Lake! I love the drama, the emotions, the way the dancers use their bodies to tell a story. Honestly, watching these phenomenal performers was so inspirational! I think it’s definitely motivated me to hit up a ballet class while I'm here. Just imagining those soaring leaps and graceful turns makes my heart soar!
But let’s talk about my favourite subject: fashion! My fellow tutufarians, you're going to love this! My New York outfit was seriously top-notch: a vibrant, magenta tutu with tulle layers that bounced with each step, paired with a sparkling, sequined black leotard. To complete the look, I topped it off with a stylish black beret - just a little something to keep my head warm in this brisk winter air.
Finding My City Style
Of course, no trip to New York City would be complete without a bit of shopping! The fashion here is so inspiring! I took full advantage of the amazing sales at Macy’s and picked up the most divine, rose-gold handbag - perfect for carrying all my ballerina necessities! Speaking of sales, if you’re ever in New York, do check out Barneys on Madison Avenue. Their pink and blush offerings are simply to die for!
Speaking of my latest purchase, there’s nothing quite like strolling through the bustling streets of New York with my handbag in tow, watching the people go by, observing the fascinating mix of fashion trends and experiencing the city’s energetic pulse. My tutu was a perfect companion, adding a splash of colour and twirling joy to my journey!
City Life Adventures
To truly understand a city, you have to experience its soul. For me, this means a ride on the iconic New York subway! The underground, a vast network of tunnels bustling with activity. It's fascinating how everyone weaves their way through the crowd with such energy, while the constant rumble and sound of the train are almost hypnotic. I even saw a street performer, a charismatic fellow with a guitar who seemed to effortlessly bring the platform to life with his lively music. I love how in New York, you can find a bit of magic in every corner, a testament to its vibrant soul!
The Food & the Fashion
To refuel from all this exploring, I savored a delicious bagel with smoked salmon - the ultimate New York treat. Nothing quite like it to fill you up for the day!
Another thing I love about this city is its embrace of all things fashion-forward! You can truly see a beautiful tapestry of personalities and styles. You’ve got your trendy fashionistas sporting the latest looks from the hottest designers, while others embody classic New York elegance in chic power suits or classic coats.
New York City has an amazing, vibrant energy, and a strong focus on creativity and innovation. That energy is absolutely contagious! This trip has been inspiring in so many ways, it makes me want to bring back a little bit of that magic back to my own little corner of Derbyshire.
And so, as my time in New York winds down, I know I’ll take away so many precious memories from this trip. My trip here has filled my soul with the joy of movement, creativity and endless inspiration.
