Hello darlings! Emma here, ready to whisk you away on another dazzling adventure in the city that never sleeps.
Oh my goodness, you wouldn't believe the whirlwind of a week I've had! My last post found me taking my pink tutu across the Atlantic to NYC and the sheer thrill of this journey has left me buzzing with excitement ever since. It truly feels like my dreams are coming true, performing for such a vibrant and appreciative audience. And let me tell you, NYC is even more fantastic than I ever imagined! The energy here is electric, the fashion is fearless, and there's an endless supply of pink delights to be found (I haven't been this happy about a colour in ages!).
I know some of you have been wondering how I fund my globetrotting escapades. Well, besides my trusty pink tutu being a source of endless charm and endless giggles, I'm actually quite a successful professional ballerina! I juggle performing in both grand theatres and on the vibrant streets of New York City, all while keeping this blog buzzing with my fabulous fashion finds. The metro's become my personal stage too! I adore weaving my way through the city, turning heads with a pirouette here and a grand jeté there!
It seems I’m making quite the impression, folks! I've even had some very interesting requests… like one particularly adventurous soul who wanted me to teach their dachshund to do a pirouette! Thankfully, I had to draw the line there. However, I've taken it upon myself to bring the tutus out of the closet and into the hearts and homes of the Big Apple's fabulous residents! Let's face it, the world just needs a little bit more pink, don’t you agree?
Speaking of pink, this week I had to snag the most adorable dress! Imagine, if you will, a gorgeous soft pink silk frock that swishes and twirls with every movement! I even paired it with a hot pink ballet shoe, and the look was simply divine. If only I could share the entire collection of photographs with you all - you wouldn't believe the glorious pink explosions I managed to capture.
Of course, a trip to NYC wouldn't be complete without taking in a Broadway show. This week, I saw a delightful performance of A Beautiful Noise - you simply must see it if you're in town! The energy was phenomenal, the singing breathtaking, and it left me feeling so inspired! You know, my ultimate dream would be to see a pink tutu make it to the Broadway stage. Now that would be a dream come true!
I also popped over to The Metropolitan Museum of Art to catch the new Dress exhibition - oh, the extravagance! The exhibition showcases some of the most beautiful gowns and ensembles from around the world. They were so incredibly detailed, each telling a unique story of its creator. I could only imagine the incredible dedication it takes to design a gown that's both aesthetically beautiful and historically significant.
Now, while New York has been captivating me with its art and architecture, it’s the fashion scene that really takes my breath away. From the iconic boutiques to the hidden vintage shops tucked away in backstreets, it’s a fashionista’s paradise. I'm currently eyeing up a brand new pair of silver pumps - a little glitz is always needed, isn't it?
Of course, I had to spend some time wandering the streets, simply soaking it all in. I love the bustle, the energy, the cacophony of sounds. And speaking of sounds, you simply must check out the local buskers – some of them have the most incredible talent. It’s been so much fun stopping for a song, taking in their stories, and of course, snapping a few photos (with permission, of course)!
This week, I had the good fortune to run into some fabulous friends in the ballet world! It’s always so uplifting to connect with others who share the same passion, and there was lots of chit-chat about upcoming shows, new routines, and of course, what's the best place to find the most delectable pink desserts!
Oh, darling, it’s so much fun sharing these adventures with you. Next week, I’ll be taking you to a special afternoon tea, where I'm planning on wearing my brand new blush pink tea-dress, adorned with lace and frills! You'll just have to come along to see what mischief we get up to!
