#PinkTutuBlogNYC - Post 1773: A Whirlwind of Pink in the City That Never Sleeps!

Hello lovelies! It’s Monday again, which means it's time for another #PinkTutuBlogNYC update, straight from the heart of the Big Apple! And what a week it has been - packed with glitter, glam, and more pink than you can shake a tutu at!

This week's adventures began with a little trip down memory lane - I found myself twirling around the iconic Lincoln Center, a place that holds a special place in my heart. After all, this is where my first NYC ballet dream was born back in 2027, when I saw a stunning production of "Swan Lake" and just knew that one day I would be performing here!

The excitement was truly palpable. The energy, the crowds, the sense of artistic energy pulsating through the very air - it was exhilarating. You know me, I couldn’t resist a quick spin in my most recent pink tutu find – a fluffy, voluminous creation, just begging to be seen.

After the theatre, I couldn’t resist taking a dip into the fascinating world of the Met. Oh my! If there is one place where fashion meets history in a heady cocktail, it’s the Metropolitan Museum of Art. You guys know I love a bit of history, especially when it comes to the grand and the extravagant, and the Met never disappoints. This time I was completely mesmerised by a showcase of Parisian haute couture, featuring the work of the great designers - Balmain, Chanel, Dior - you name it, it was there. Their designs were works of art in themselves, so intricately woven and bursting with imagination. Seeing those amazing outfits made me realise how much artistry and meticulous detail goes into creating every single stitch, every seam. You wouldn't believe some of the details on some of the creations - incredible embroidery, feathers, and layers of tulle, so many layers of tulle! It felt a little like the ballet world collided with the high fashion world and gave birth to something absolutely magnificent.

As you all know, I live by the motto “treat yourself”, so after the museum, a little retail therapy was definitely in order. You can’t be in NYC without making a pit stop at one of the many iconic boutiques lining Fifth Avenue. This week, I discovered a little hidden gem of a vintage boutique just off Times Square, stuffed to the brim with designer clothes. You'd think you'd have to have a supermodel's bank account to step into these places, but sometimes you find those hidden treasures – a little like I did when I stumbled upon the pinkest vintage handbag! It’s covered in tiny pearl beads and glitters, and honestly, it is absolutely perfect! A little reminder of the classic glamour of days gone by – something a pink tutu enthusiast can never have too much of!

Speaking of pink, this week’s ballet classes were something special! We spent a whole class perfecting the choreography for our next performance – a piece set to the most stunning Vivaldi concertos, and boy, are we ready to take to the stage in style! I’m feeling really proud of the class, we've really come a long way together. Every rehearsal is getting us more in sync and each pirouette, grand jeté and pas de bourrée feels that bit more effortless.

This weekend I’m taking to the stage at the iconic Carnegie Hall – if you’re in NYC, you HAVE to come and see it. The hall is absolutely breath-taking and the acoustics are phenomenal, you could hear a pin drop in there – I think. That’s why it’s one of the most iconic venues for live performances – if you ever get a chance to experience the magical energy of Carnegie Hall, make sure you do!

You know I'm all about those fabulous outfits for a grand occasion like this one, so for this particular performance, I'm wearing a pink tutu fit for a fairytale princess! It’s a soft, rose-gold colour that twirls and shimmers as I dance, and is adorned with an elegant sprinkling of tiny diamantes. We all have a fairytale in our hearts and for me, Carnegie Hall on a weekend night is my happily ever after.

On that note, darling readers, I’ll be twirling off to rehearse for tonight’s show! I can’t wait to share my post-show snaps and stories with you all tomorrow. Until next week, remember to always follow your dreams, wear pink and make your own sparkle wherever you go!

P.S. Make sure you check out the fabulous #PinkTutuBlogNYC photos this week on my website. And if you've ever thought about starting your own pink tutu journey, please, don’t hesitate, do it! It’s time to make the world a brighter, more sparkly place, one tutu at a time!
