Hello, darlings! Welcome back to Pink Tutu Blog NYC! It's Monday, which means it's time for another whirl through the dazzling streets of the Big Apple. This week has been a complete and utter dream, filled with fabulous ballet performances, delightful shopping adventures, and, of course, my favourite way to explore - the subway!
As always, I'm wearing my signature pink tutu, this time a fluffy tulle creation with shimmering silver stars. It just seems fitting for the city that never sleeps, doesn't it? I'm ready to twirl through the day, embracing every moment of magic this city offers.
The Week That Was: A Whirl of Tulle and Tights
This past week, I've been on a ballet-themed rollercoaster, and trust me, it's been every bit as thrilling as it sounds! I kicked things off with a glorious performance of Swan Lake at the Metropolitan Opera House. It was truly breathtaking. The dancers were incredible, the costumes were absolutely exquisite, and I felt my heart soaring as the swans glided across the stage. There's simply nothing like a live ballet performance, and I felt every single emotion, from pure joy to bittersweet melancholy.
Later that week, I took a class at the illustrious Steps on Broadway. Talk about a treat! This renowned dance studio is practically a pilgrimage site for any self-respecting ballerina. It was such a thrill to join a class alongside seasoned professionals and eager amateurs alike. I was so excited, my heart skipped a beat as I "á la seconde"ed my way across the room. Feeling the energy of the dancers around me, my movements just flowed with effortless grace. This truly is what it feels like to live my dream.
And let's not forget the shopping! New York is a haven for the fashionista. It's like a never-ending candy shop filled with shoes, dresses, accessories - you name it, it's there! I've managed to unearth some absolute gems: a gorgeous silk scarf with a vintage floral design, a pair of sparkly heels in the most delightful shade of bubblegum pink, and a ballet-inspired dress in soft tulle and lace. Every purchase makes my heart skip a beat. I love finding unique pieces that speak to my personal style and add a touch of flair to my outfits.
Subway Style: Riding the Rails in Pink
Of course, no visit to New York City would be complete without experiencing the iconic subway system. The cacophony of sounds, the constant hum of movement, the kaleidoscope of faces - it's a thrilling and energizing atmosphere that perfectly reflects the city's heartbeat. I absolutely love riding the subway in my pink tutu! It turns heads, gets smiles, and adds a sprinkle of magic to everyday life. The people of New York City are so kind and encouraging. Often I find myself the centre of attention as people admire my tulle creation and compliment my style. It's like a mini ballet performance, right on the subway!
Today's To-Do List: The Empire State Building in Pink!
Today is all about embracing the vibrant energy of New York. After a delightful breakfast of croissants and fruit (the ultimate way to fuel up for a day of twirling!), I'm off to explore the magnificent Empire State Building. It's simply a must-see, and what better way to take in the stunning city views than from the top of this architectural wonder? I can almost picture it now: the cityscape sprawling below me, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun, and, of course, me twirling with the joy of a ballerina at the top of this iconic building!
Later, I'll be joining a dance troupe in the heart of Times Square for a surprise flash mob! We're going to dance in the heart of the city, bringing the magic of ballet to the bustling crowds. I'm a little nervous but so excited at the same time! It's such a great way to engage with the community and inspire people to embrace their inner ballerina. It will be so much fun!
A Dream Come True
Living in New York City, exploring its diverse neighbourhoods, and sharing my passion for ballet is truly a dream come true. I love that every corner of this city offers a unique experience. It's a vibrant melting pot of cultures, passions, and energy - just like my little world of pink tutus! My dream of bringing a touch of ballet magic to the world is taking shape here, and I couldn't be happier!

Sharing My Story
You may wonder how I manage to live my ballet dream, travelling the world in a pink tutu and sharing my adventures. It's all about dedication, passion, and a whole lot of twirling! My primary source of funding is my love of ballet. I am a professional dancer and perform in numerous shows throughout the year. Every performance allows me to share my passion for dance, and most importantly, to fund my next exciting adventure! My aim in life is to get everyone to embrace their inner ballerina. The world is a more joyful place when people wear tutus. I can only hope to inspire the next generation of tutu wearing fashionistas!
My Roots and Inspiration
Though I am now a full-fledged New Yorker, I grew up in Derbyshire, England. This picturesque county in the East Midlands was my initial playground. The beautiful green hills, the charming villages, the crisp countryside air, it's all part of what inspires my spirit and feeds my love of life. My roots run deep in Derbyshire, where the joy of ballet first captured my heart. It was on those charming stages in England where I first danced under the sparkling lights and dreamt of twirling across a much larger world!
