Pink Tutu Blog: Paris Adventures - Part Deux (Saturday, 8th January 2000)

Bonjour, chérie!

It’s Emma here, reporting live from the City of Lights! Can you believe it’s been a whole week since I landed in Paris? It feels like just yesterday I was boarding the EuroStar in my pinkest, poofiest tutu, leaving the chilly Derbyshire countryside for a whirlwind of Parisian romance.

And romance it certainly was! Let me tell you, I haven't seen so much pink in my life! From the pastel-hued macarons lining the windows of patisseries to the vibrant bouquets blooming in flower stalls, it's like someone spilled a pot of my favourite colour all over Paris. I haven't stopped grinning since I arrived.

Now, you're probably wondering what exactly I got up to this week. Well, it was an absolute riot of exciting experiences! I thought it'd be fun to take you through it day by day:

Monday: Parisian Elegance & a Tutu-fied Treat

After a delightful breakfast of croissants and freshly squeezed orange juice, I ventured into the heart of Paris to explore. I was so enchanted by the beautiful buildings and cobblestone streets that I just had to capture it all on my camera – my Instagram followers are going to go crazy for these photos!

The highlight of the day? Discovering a charming little shop called "Les Tutues Roses" – literally translated as "The Pink Tutus"! Can you believe my luck? It was like it was meant to be. The shop had every shade of pink tutu you could possibly imagine, from delicate baby pink to a dazzling neon pink, and even a few glittery ones! Naturally, I had to treat myself to a new addition to my collection – a fluffy, pastel pink tutu perfect for twirling down the Champs-Élysées.

Tuesday: Ballet in the City of Lights

Oh, you simply have to experience ballet in Paris! There's nothing quite like watching dancers pirouette under the chandelier-lit ceiling of the Opera Garnier. I spent the evening glued to the performance of "Swan Lake" – every movement was pure magic. I actually felt tears in my eyes during the final act.

After the performance, I joined a group of enthusiastic ballet fans for a late-night, all-things-ballet discussion in a café across from the theatre. The air was filled with chat about the artistry of the dancers, the elegance of the costumes, and the breathtaking beauty of the choreography. Even though I only arrived in Paris this week, it felt like I was part of a passionate, connected community – a real sisterhood of tutu-lovers!

Wednesday: Fashion Finds and Parisian Charm

Let's talk shopping! Paris is a dream come true for any fashion-conscious ballerina. The streets are overflowing with elegant boutiques, chic designers, and the most stylish people I've ever seen.

I started my day by hitting the iconic Galeries Lafayette. It was a feast for the senses – the light pouring through the glass dome, the luxurious display of clothes, shoes, and accessories. The shop felt like a ballet in itself. Of course, I couldn't resist a new silk scarf, and a couple of pretty pastel pink hair clips to match my new tutu.

In the afternoon, I wandered through the Marais district, its vintage boutiques overflowing with unique finds. It's the perfect place to hunt for that perfect, one-of-a-kind piece to complete any outfit – or to add a touch of Parisienne chic to your tutu collection!

Thursday: Artistic Inspiration and Parisian Treats

A ballerina's gotta stay inspired, right? So, on Thursday, I visited the Musée d'Orsay – a stunning museum filled with Impressionist art. It’s hard not to be captivated by the light, colour, and energy of masterpieces like Monet’s "Water Lilies". And of course, a day spent at a museum calls for some truly special Parisian treats. My favourite: a decadent, melt-in-your-mouth, pink-frosted macaron. Divine!

Friday: Romantic Parisian Moments & A Tutu-ful Dinner

Ah, Paris – the city of romance! It felt fitting to spend Friday strolling through the gardens of the Jardin du Luxembourg. This lush, peaceful oasis feels like a world away from the city bustle. I sat on a bench, soaking up the warm sunshine and the sound of laughter in the air. Then I headed to the elegant Latin Quarter, for dinner in a small restaurant known for its delicious French cuisine. And yes, I did wear my new pink tutu!

I spent the evening listening to Parisian jazz musicians as I tucked into my favourite Parisian dish, Coq au Vin – a rich, flavoursome stew that's as comforting as a warm embrace.

Saturday: Paris with a Pink Twist

Well, here we are – Saturday! It's a day for relaxing and reminiscing about the incredible week I've had. The smell of freshly baked bread wafted up from a local boulangerie as I took a leisurely walk around the city. As I gazed up at the Eiffel Tower, bathed in the morning sun, I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude.

You know, I truly believe everyone should visit Paris at least once in their lives. This city truly embodies joie de vivre! I've filled my tutu bag with memories I'll cherish forever. Paris, you've truly stolen my heart – I can't wait to return, to explore your magical streets and charming corners all over again.

Now, let me ask you a question – what colour tutu would you choose for your Paris adventures?
