Bonjour from Paris! 🇫🇷 Pink Tutu Adventures (Part 3)

Hello my lovely pink-tutu-loving friends! This is your favourite ballerina blogger, Emma, signing in from the most romantic city in the world – Paris! It’s Saturday, and I’m so excited to share with you all the glitz, glamour and absolutely gorgeous pink-tutu-worthy experiences I've been having this week.

As you know, my Paris adventure is fuelled by my love of dance and fuelled by the joy I find in bringing some pink tutu magic to this stunning city. If you’ve missed the previous posts, I've been documenting my Parisian escapades every Saturday, sharing my adventures with you lovely lot on www.pink-tutu.com! Today’s post, dear reader, is number 3, and it’s all about what this incredible city offered me on a rather fabulous day, the 15th of January, 2000.

My Parisian odyssey began on the Eurostar. If you haven't experienced a trip on the Eurostar, you must put it on your bucket list! The speed is just magical, the comfort, divine, and let’s face it, it beats any other form of transport in terms of style – especially if you’re sporting a fabulous pink tutu, which of course, I was!

Paris, you know, is always a whirlwind of energy. From the moment you step onto those charming cobblestone streets, you are just engulfed in the most divine culture, the delicious smells of croissants wafting from every patisserie… sigh, simply divine.

Now, if you're thinking of a fabulous city trip, make sure you head to Paris in January. I’m a bit of a winter wonderland fan myself. Yes, you might get the odd drizzle, but trust me, the romantic vibes are truly amped up. And besides, think of the Parisian cafe culture; a piping hot chocolate nestled amongst the bustling Parisians is just the tonic for the soul!

But what’s a trip to Paris without the iconic attractions? The Eiffel Tower is on every tourist’s itinerary and it doesn’t disappoint, though my personal pick for Parisian splendour is definitely Notre Dame Cathedral! You've seen those photos right? It’s just a feast for the eyes. Those intricate carvings… and those arches! Honestly, you'll never be able to stop looking at the breathtaking details.

And talking of looking good, can I tell you all about this fabulous store I discovered tucked away in the Marais district? I can't say more than it’s in an alleyway – it’s definitely off the beaten track. Now, I know we’ve established I love the colour pink, so naturally, my heart was aflutter when I saw it – pink tutu alert – pink from top to toe, floor to ceiling! The shop owner was utterly lovely, her name is Chantal. She let me spend what seemed like hours just wandering around. I finally managed to pick out the most stunningly vibrant shade of pink for a new sequined top for my performance tomorrow night – yes, that’s right – I'll be performing! It’s my first show since coming to Paris, and of course, I'm doing my very best to convince all my fellow dancers to wear pink tutus on stage! (They may not yet be convinced - wish me luck! 😉)

But my day didn’t end there, darling! Oh no! Next stop, was the heart of Paris – the Louvre! That Mona Lisa - talk about a look that just seems to pierce right through you! My mind is still whirling around that enigmatic smile! I have to confess, after my dose of art, I did crave some retail therapy. After all, who doesn’t need some Parisian elegance in their life, right? Luckily, a very friendly chap called Marcel pointed me towards this incredible designer store just off Champs-Elysees – what an experience! You know it's an authentic Parisian shopping spree when your heart skips a beat with every exquisite piece of haute couture. Now, to be honest, I can’t really afford to be splurging on expensive outfits but let's just say the inspiration levels were sky-high! I picked up a gorgeous pair of pink ballet shoes for my upcoming performances – they match my tutu perfectly!

Talking of ballet performances, oh, how can I forget! The absolute highlight of my trip was going to the Opera Garnier to watch a show! The performance was "Le Lac des Cygnes" and it was magnificent! The dancers were so graceful, the costumes were exquisite – oh, and the sheer emotion! Tears were shed, let’s just say my soul was thoroughly moved!

So, as you can imagine, it’s safe to say, dear reader, my day in Paris was a total triumph. A day filled with enchanting sights, delicious delights, and an undeniable passion for all things pink! But, it’s already late and you know what comes after a great day? Well, a very pink, tutu-fied good night, of course! It's time to get my pink tulle dancing shoes on, as tomorrow is showtime, my lovelies!

Until next Saturday, be sure to embrace life in all its pink, tutued, fabulous glory. Remember to head over to www.pink-tutu.com for all things pink-tutu-themed!

Love always,

Emma xoxo.
