Pink Tutu Paris - #19: Parisian Whirlwind!

Bonjour mes amies!

Welcome back to Pink Tutu Paris, my weekly dose of Parisian delights for your reading pleasure. This week I'm bursting with excitement, as it was a true fairytale trip - complete with cobbled streets, charming cafes and the Eiffel Tower shimmering like a giant pink diamond in the evening sun!

It was a gloriously sunny Saturday morning as I hopped onto the EuroStar at St Pancras. It was such a quick and comfy journey - perfect for sipping my cappuccino and enjoying the views, especially when we sped through the French countryside!

As I stepped off the train, I was immediately enchanted by the buzzing energy of Paris. The air hummed with laughter, the scent of freshly baked pastries drifted through the streets, and every corner held a beautiful secret.

First Stop: Le Marais!

My first adventure was exploring the cobblestone streets of Le Marais, a delightful mix of ancient history and contemporary chic. This vibrant area is brimming with boutiques and galleries, cafes and brasseries - it's a treasure trove for any shopaholic (including this tutu-loving girl!). I snagged a fabulous pink satin clutch bag and a vintage beret with a tiny pink feather. I'm not sure my bank balance thanked me for the indulgence, but who can resist a Parisian spree, especially when it's wrapped in pink?

A Dance with Destiny!

Next on the agenda was a treat for my soul - ballet! The Opera Garnier is a spectacular example of architecture and opulence. I was breathless just walking through the doors, imagining the glamorous balls and dazzling performances that have taken place here over the centuries. Today I was lucky enough to catch a performance of Swan Lake, a ballet that never fails to take my breath away. The grace, precision, and sheer beauty of the dancers, particularly the breathtaking black swan, was mesmerising. I almost wished I had my pink tutu on to join them!

Finding my Pink Oasis:

After the ballet, my rumbling tummy led me to a hidden gem tucked away in a quiet courtyard: Cafe Rose. As soon as I stepped inside, I knew I'd found my haven. Pink roses adorned every surface, and even the teacups were adorned with tiny pink bows. My afternoon tea arrived with dainty sandwiches, delicate scones with lashings of clotted cream and a pot of freshly brewed Earl Grey. What a delightful way to refuel after a day of ballet and exploration!

Catching the City Lights:

Paris at sunset is magical. We hopped on the metro to head towards the iconic Eiffel Tower. As the golden hour approached, the city bathed in warm sunlight. Every angle was photogenic, from the charming architecture to the lush greenery along the Seine. The sky erupted into a fiery symphony of reds, oranges, and purples, as the sun slowly dipped behind the horizon. The city began to twirl under a canopy of stars and, with every passing moment, Paris became a vision of dreams.

Climbing the Eiffel Tower was definitely worth the effort, and it offered stunning 360-degree views of the cityscape. I even managed to squeeze in a quick performance on the observation deck (with my pink tutu!), which drew a few surprised smiles. After all, who wouldn't want a touch of tutu magic in their lives?

Dinner under the Parisian Stars:

A dinner date was next! We tucked into a traditional French dinner at Le Petit Paris, a cosy bistro with charmingly-dressed waiters and a menu full of delicious delights. We enjoyed juicy coq au vin and creamy béchamel sauce. I felt like I'd stepped right out of a vintage Parisian film.

Ending the Night on a High Note:

My evening ended on a perfect note with a lively street performance. I watched a group of talented street musicians perform a heart-warming rendition of classic French chansons. The melody floated through the air, captivating passersby with their enchanting music.

Paris, oh Paris, you never fail to amaze me!
