Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Post #23 - Saturday 3rd June 2000 - Bonjour from the City of Lights!

Oh la la! It’s Emma, your Pink Tutu blogger, and I’ve finally arrived in Paris! I can barely believe it – the City of Lights has been calling to me for ages, and it’s finally here!

I travelled by EuroStar – a total dream come true, especially since I got to wear my brand new pink tutu with the little Eiffel Tower on it. Just picture it – my darling pink tutu swirling against the backdrop of the countryside, it was almost too much to handle. Almost.

This is going to be a big week for Pink Tutu Paris. You know me, I don’t do things by halves – especially when it comes to my favourite colour. The next few days will be all about the pinkest, most fabulous time in Paris. We're talking fashion, food, ballet, and naturally, more pink tutus.

First stop – getting settled in. The hotel room is très chic – think French country cottage, but with added fluffy pink cushions and a giant, sparkly chandelier. And of course, a little something for the ballerinas out there: a dressing table so glamorous you'd think you were starring in your very own ballet!

After I finished unpacking (and putting a strategically placed pink tutu on the back of every chair, just to add that extra bit of Parisian charm), I took a walk through the streets. I have to say, the whole atmosphere here just feels so different. It's buzzing with energy – cobbled streets, bustling cafes, and everyone just seems so stylish. Of course, they’re not quite as stylish as a girl in a pink tutu, but they’re trying!

I stumbled upon this amazing little bakery that seemed straight out of a movie - they even had a pink croissant. And let's be honest, what's more Paris than a pink croissant? It tasted even better than it looked, which is saying something, as I literally could not take my eyes off it. It's these moments, these little surprises, that make travelling so wonderful!

Tomorrow, the Parisian adventure really begins – I have a reservation at a beautiful cafe with the most divine pink floral patterns you've ever seen, followed by a much-needed ballet class at the famous Opéra Garnier.

Did you know? Today is the opening night of ‘Don Quixote’ at the Opera Bastille. And of course, I'm absolutely going to try and snag tickets! To celebrate my first night in Paris, I’ll be heading out to watch some of the greatest ballet dancers in the world perform. Imagine - that kind of tutu magic, in the city that literally invented haute couture! I’m so excited I could do a pirouette right now. And if you’re feeling inspired by all the Pink Tutu Parisian fun, feel free to join in the festivities – there are ballet performances in nearly every corner of this city. Just pop on your favourite tutu, grab your friends and head to a theatre or performance space nearby!

This blog wouldn't be complete without mentioning the incredible work I'm doing to keep this Pink Tutu Blog afloat! It all comes from my dancing, of course. And my, how much dancing I do! Did I tell you that this year I've performed in ten different performances with three different dance groups across Derbyshire? I know, right?! All the money I earn from those shows allows me to come to Paris, and wear the latest tutu designs - so much gratitude for the local dance community! It makes all the late nights and rigorous practice so worth it. And honestly, there's no better feeling than standing in a full tutu, bathed in stage lights, sharing my love for the dance with the audience.

If you're looking for some exciting ways to join in with the magic of this Parisian adventure – make sure to keep your eyes peeled for future Pink Tutu Paris posts! I'm talking ballet performances, fancy Parisian shops with exquisite tutus (the perfect accessory to every outfit), and maybe even a romantic horse and carriage ride down the Champs-Élysées. Yes, you read that correctly - a horse and carriage ride in a pink tutu – what's more iconic than that?!

Until next week, darling. Don’t forget, I’m all about spreading the pink tutu love!
