Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #24)

Saturday, June 10th, 2000

Bonjour mes chéries!

It’s Emma, your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina blogger, back from Paris with a heart full of joy, pockets overflowing with pretty things, and, of course, my trusty pink tutu (you knew that, right?).

This week’s Parisian adventure was a whirlwind of glamour and glitz. I boarded the EuroStar in Derbyshire, my pink tulle swirling around me like a magical cloud as I sped towards the French capital. And let me tell you, darling, there’s something truly exhilarating about a train journey. The views, the romance, the sheer sense of anticipation for what lies ahead... Pure magic, I tell you!

As always, I arrived in Paris brimming with ideas for this week's blog. I mean, how could I not be inspired by this city, with its beautiful architecture, chic Parisians, and abundance of wonderful boutiques? There’s truly nothing like it!

A Ballet Bonanza:

My first stop had to be the Palais Garnier, a monument to ballet history and architectural brilliance. The Opéra Garnier itself is a dazzling spectacle, with its elaborate gold decorations, intricate chandeliers, and ornate grand staircase. Imagine, darling, waltzing down that staircase in a fluffy pink tutu… sigh.

But it wasn't just the building's beauty that captivated me; the ballet show was simply exquisite! The dancers glided across the stage with grace and precision, telling stories of love, loss, and triumph. And the costumes, my dear… they were positively heavenly! Imagine the colour, the embroidery, the intricate beadwork! It was a feast for the eyes and my inner ballerina swooned.

Fashionista Frenzy:

No trip to Paris is complete without a bit of retail therapy, wouldn’t you agree? Now, darling, the French know how to do shopping in style, and I, of course, was determined to indulge in a little French chic. The boutiques on the Champs-Élysées were brimming with all things pretty, and I confess, my credit card saw a few more transactions than usual. I bought a divine hat from a quaint little shop tucked away on a cobblestone street - imagine, darling, a beret in a stunning shade of blush pink! And let’s not forget the little Parisian boutique I discovered down a hidden alleyway. It had the most stunning floral dresses, delicate silk scarves, and vintage brooches... I could have spent hours there!

Art & Imagination:

Now, for a touch of culture, I visited the Musée d'Orsay. Its collection of Impressionist masterpieces left me breathless. You know how much I love capturing beauty through art, and seeing Monet's "Water Lilies" or Renoir’s "Bal du moulin de la Galette" in person is simply extraordinary! Each brushstroke, each colour, brought the art to life. It was like stepping into a Parisian garden and breathing in the perfume of roses, lilies, and sunshine.

Dinner in a Dreamland:

My evening was spent enjoying a delicious dinner at a charming bistro overlooking the Seine. With a glass of chilled rose in hand and the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower as my backdrop, I savored every moment. It was a true Parisian dream.

Pink Tutu Magic in Paris:

Of course, my beloved pink tutu was my faithful companion throughout my Parisian adventures. As I wandered through the bustling streets, it seemed to add a touch of magic to everything I saw. It was almost like the colour pink was amplifying the beauty of everything around me.

As I sit here in my hotel room, reflecting on my day, I’m already dreaming of my next Parisian adventure. Oh, Paris, you’re my everything, and I’ll be back soon, that’s for sure!

Until next week, darling, keep twirling and spreading the pink tutu love.

Xx Emma
