Bonjour mes amies!
This week I’m absolutely brimming with excitement – it’s Paris time again! I have just hopped off the EuroStar – oh, the joy of hurtling through the Channel Tunnel at 186 mph! A thrilling start to my Parisian adventure.
You may recall, darlings, that I'm a big fan of the French capital. Paris, to me, is a magical city. Imagine a place brimming with exquisite fashion, delectable pastries, romantic walks, and enchanting theatre performances. Add in a pinch of charming cobbled streets, majestic architecture and you've got the recipe for a perfect girly getaway.
For this trip, I packed a suitcase bursting with vibrant pink, fluffy tutus, my new silk blouse from Harrods, and my ballet shoes (because every good adventure needs a pair of reliable dancing shoes, wouldn't you agree?). Of course, a few of my favourite pastel pink lipsticks are tucked in my handbag too, because a girl needs her touch-ups.
A Touch of Magic in Montmartre
First stop: the whimsical Montmartre, a bohemian neighbourhood perched on a hill. With its cobbled streets, hidden art studios and breath-taking views, it’s a neighbourhood just begging to be explored. After my EuroStar arrival and a quick pit stop for a croissant and coffee (heavenly, truly!), I wandered around Montmartre, absorbing the atmosphere. I must admit, the steep climbs up and down the hill had my legs burning, but every single step was worth it for the beautiful panoramas.
While I was admiring the cityscape, I spied a charming shop tucked into a corner. A sign with swirling letters proudly announced 'Chez Gabrielle – Tutu Maker Extraordinaire'. My heart leaped! My very own pink tutu in Paris? What a glorious day!
Now, darling readers, you all know how much I adore a good tutu. It's a staple in my wardrobe. And, believe me, a ballerina can never have too many. So naturally, I simply had to pop inside to say hello. Imagine my delight when I discovered that Mademoiselle Gabrielle has a collection of tutus beyond imagination. Feathers, sparkles, frills and every shade of pink imaginable - my little heart skipped a beat!
And even better, Mademoiselle Gabrielle generously offered me a pink tutu that is simply exquisite. You won’t believe the exquisite shade of pink. A perfect dusky, blushing rose shade! It’s like a delicate dream of the sweetest pink hues you could imagine. This tutu will have my Instagram followers swooning! I have to admit, I am so tempted to wear it to tonight’s ballet performance - my feet will be happy to take a break from walking the Montmartre slopes!
Catching the Spirit at a Theatre Performance
Speaking of ballet performances, tonight I’m off to the Théâtre du Châtelet. It’s the epitome of Parisian glamour. And on the programme, is 'La Sylphide'! Oh my! I adore this Romantic ballet. The sheer ethereal beauty, the poignant tale, the haunting music - it’s guaranteed to sweep me off my feet. I cannot wait! I already feel the magic in the air.
After the show, I might just find myself at one of the delightful bistros by the Seine, watching the lights twinkle. It wouldn’t be Paris without a glass of red wine and a few canapés, would it?
And to continue on my girly adventures tomorrow, I’m planning a leisurely trip along the Champs-Élysées, enjoying the world-renowned window displays, browsing through boutiques for fashion inspiration.
My Passion for Fashion
Speaking of fashion, I feel like I've found a true Parisian treasure at the Marais neighbourhood, in a hidden vintage boutique. I've never seen such beautiful silk scarves! My favourite, is one with swirling florals and vibrant emerald and teal colours. Oh my! It's so Parisian chic.
Remember, my dear friends, I don't wear pink tutus just for the looks! There’s a real message behind the pink. For me, the pink tutu embodies freedom, optimism and the sheer joy of self-expression. And it's all about sharing this spirit with everyone! After all, wouldn't the world be a happier, more joyful place if we all embrace a little pink tutu spirit?
This Paris trip is about embracing everything this glorious city offers - culture, glamour, and most importantly, joie de vivre! I’m ready for a weekend full of fun and beautiful discoveries! And don’t worry, I’ll be back with another Parisian adventure to share with you next week.
