Pink Tutu Blog - Paris, Post #42 - Saturday, 14th October, 2000

Bonjour mes amis! Well, here I am, in the City of Lights, Paris! The capital of fashion, and my latest pink tutu destination. This week, I decided to leave the cobbled streets of Derbyshire behind and hop aboard the Eurostar, armed with my trusty pink tutu and a suitcase overflowing with Parisian chic. Yes, my lovelies, it's all about Paris this week, and this gorgeous pink tutu has definitely stepped into the spotlight.

I've got to tell you, the journey over was like a ballet performance in itself! The Eurostar whizzed me across the Channel in a whirlwind of sleekness and speed. Imagine the graceful lines of the carriages gliding along the tracks - truly a ballet for the eyes. It reminded me of those amazing costumes you see on the Bolshoi stage, except I was a little less glitzy and a little more comfy in my travelling clothes.

Of course, when you step into Paris, the magic starts right away! It’s not just the Parisian chic, the exquisite fashion, the dazzling art, the breathtaking architecture – it’s that special feeling, that je ne sais quoi. Oh la la, it feels incredible to be back!

This Saturday morning began with a rather divine treat. I awoke to the scent of fresh croissants and strong French coffee. The sunshine was dappling through the Parisian cafe windows, casting patterns across the sidewalk. I even had my own little corner table where I could people-watch to my heart's content. My morning couldn’t have been more perfect - Paris, the aroma of croissants, and a good dose of people-watching in my favourite pink tutu - you really couldn’t ask for anything more.

Of course, a trip to Paris wouldn’t be complete without indulging in a spot of retail therapy. Now, you all know I have a weakness for Parisian style, and that charming little boutique on Rue du Faubourg Saint-HonorĂ© caught my eye. With its glittering windows and the promise of French couture, I had to stop in. Oh, the exquisite fabrics, the delicate details, the oh-so-fashionable designs. I walked out with my arms laden with bags full of Parisian elegance. (My credit card might not be so happy, but my wardrobe certainly is.)

Later this evening, I'm heading to the Palais Garnier. Can you imagine? Ballet at the Opera! You bet it’s going to be a masterpiece. I’m putting on my most extravagant tutu - something with layers of tulle and a dash of sparkle. And when the stage lights go up and the music starts, you’ll find me, captivated and enchanted.

It's all so exciting and glamorous! I've planned out a week full of wonder - a tour of the Louvre, strolling along the Seine with my new French fashion finds, even learning a few dance steps from a Parisian dance teacher.

Speaking of dance, my travels are all thanks to you lovely people. My ballet performances have given me the chance to live out my dreams of seeing the world in my tutu. I couldn't have asked for a more magical way to combine my two loves - travelling and dance.

It's a tough life, I know, but someone has to inspire people to put on a pink tutu and embrace a little magic! I'll keep you updated on all my adventures in Paris, darling. Don't forget to follow me on Instagram (@PinkTutuTravels) to see my day-to-day Parisian adventures!

À bientît,

Emma
