Hello my darlings! Welcome back to Pink Tutu Paris, where the streets are paved with fashion, the cafes are brimming with romance, and, of course, there’s always a perfect spot for a pirouette! 🩰 Today, December 9th, I'm feeling truly "bonne joie" as the French say, and I'm bubbling over with all the excitement of this wonderful city!
For those of you new to the blog, my name's Emma, and I'm a Derbyshire girl with a penchant for pink tutus, Parisian adventures, and anything remotely fabulous! This blog is my little corner of the internet where I share all things glittery, girly, and utterly enchanting.
This week, I'm delighted to say I arrived in Paris via the luxurious EuroStar! A touch of champagne on board and a smooth journey meant I landed feeling relaxed, ready to explore this enchanting city.
It’s no secret that I'm a total ballet enthusiast. To finance my Parisian jaunts, I work as a freelance dancer – which essentially translates to a whole lot of fun performing and choreographing across the UK! But my biggest dream is to make ballet accessible to everyone, so maybe you'll catch me in a street performance one day!
Anyway, back to the magical city! I'm currently staying in a quaint hotel nestled in the charming Marais district, and oh my, it’s positively delightful! I’ve been dreaming of this for months, and to be finally here with my favourite pink tutu (this one’s a soft blush, with layers of tulle, just darling!)… Well, let’s just say, I’m truly feeling every ounce of Parisian chic.
A Saturday In Paris - What To See and DoSpeaking of Parisian chic, I simply couldn’t resist indulging in a spot of shopping! As a lover of all things elegant, the boutiques of Rue de Rivoli beckoned, offering up an array of designer treasures.
But honestly, I couldn’t go too crazy with my shopping this week! The main highlight of my Paris adventure this time is the glorious opportunity to see a performance at the Opera Garnier. Yes, my lovelies, that most incredible of Parisian architectural wonders, where I’ll be witnessing the magic of a live performance. It’s truly going to be an unforgettable experience! I’ll be sure to tell you all about it next week!
Beyond the opulence of the opera house, Paris is a city full of charm and hidden delights. A trip to Montmartre on Friday night was an absolute must, with its cobblestone streets winding through vibrant artists' quarters and offering a breathtaking panoramic view from the top.
But let’s be honest, my dearest readers, my days are a bit of a ballet-obsessed dream here in Paris. So on Sunday, I'll be indulging in a private lesson at l'École de Danse Parisienne. This will allow me to absorb the atmosphere, get my dancing shoes on, and hopefully glean some tips from a truly prestigious institution. If all goes to plan, I might even sneak in some shopping for the latest dancewear, just to fully embrace the Paris vibe. Who can resist a Parisian boutique filled with beautiful dance wear, right?
Top Pink Tutu Tips
While Paris is certainly all about romantic promenades and charming Parisian bistros, there’s a whole lot more to this city! And if you’re hoping to bring your inner pink tutu self to life, here are a few tips I’ve gathered during my short stay here!
- Get your inner "artiste" flowing: Wander around the city's charming street art hotspots, like the Montmartre district, and don't be shy to strike a pose or two! You're in Paris, after all, so feel free to embrace your inner ballerina!
- Have a "Pink" Parisian picnic: Indulge in delicious baguettes, fresh fruit, and a cheeky glass of French rosé at a picture-perfect park or garden. Don't forget to add a touch of pink flair with your picnic blanket and even your food! I'm a total pink foodie!
- Channel your inner Coco Chanel: Let your fashion spirit shine and find a chic Parisian cafe where you can sip on some tea and simply watch the world go by! Paris is the ultimate fashion playground, and it's the perfect excuse to strut your own personal style, my darlings!
Paris - A Dream Come True!
This is my 50th post for Pink Tutu Paris and honestly, every single week, it feels more and more surreal to be writing about this extraordinary city! It’s everything I imagined, and so much more, and the magic is all around! It really is my dream to get more people dancing in their own version of the perfect pink tutu – and what better place than Paris to find inspiration?!
Remember, it's all about making memories, my darlings. And there's no place more magical for it than the "City of Lights" with its beautiful architecture, romantic vibe and oh so charming residents.
