Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post #56: Paris, Je t'aime!
Bonjour mes amis! It's Emma here, and what a week it's been! This time last week, I was busy polishing my pointe shoes and perfecting my fouetté in preparation for a rather splendid ballet performance back in Derbyshire. But today, my lovely readers, I find myself amidst the chic Parisian streets, wearing a tres magnifique pink tutu, of course! And I have to say, the Eiffel Tower is absolutely mesmerising! I couldn't have dreamt up a more magical setting for this week's blog post.
From Derbyshire to Paris - a Pink Tutu Journey!
How did I get here? Well, thanks to my fantastic ballet performances, I was able to splash out on a rather wonderful journey aboard the Eurostar - oh, the glamour! I must say, travelling by train really appeals to me - it's such a romantic and elegant way to get about. Plus, it gives me ample time to admire my own pink tutu, of course. I popped my head out the window and let the French countryside roll by, all charming towns and lush green fields - what a delightful experience!
My Parisian Debut - a Whirlwind of Wonder!
My first impression of Paris? Absolutely enchanting! As the Eurostar pulled into Gare du Nord, I felt like Cinderella stepping into a fairy tale. The streets were abuzz with people, the shops all glamorous and elegant, and the air...ah, that divine French air! It was then I realised, the City of Lights truly deserves its name!
And oh my goodness, have I been spoilt for choice! From charming cafes spilling onto cobbled streets, to the awe-inspiring Louvre Museum, it’s simply a whirlwind of beauty and elegance!
Shopping, Shopping, Shopping!
Now, let's talk fashion! I couldn't possibly visit Paris without indulging in a little shopping spree. It's a must, don't you think? My first stop? The gorgeous Galeries Lafayette department store. The sheer grandeur, the light, the abundance of beautiful things - it's a shopper's dream! I simply had to buy a new pink handbag, oui oui, a truly lovely statement piece.
Later on, I spent some time at the gorgeous Merci store, filled with elegant, stylish designs. I adore their bohemian aesthetic - and it perfectly complements my tutu style, wouldn't you say? Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a visit to Chanel - I am such a huge admirer of their classic styles, and it simply wouldn't be right to visit without browsing through their collections. I confess, I treated myself to a pair of elegant black gloves - what else would a ballerina do?
Parisian Delights: Ballet and Beyond
This wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Blog without a mention of ballet, now would it? Well, my dears, I'm absolutely delighted to tell you that on this very day, Saturday 20th January 2001, Paris is treating me to a special ballet performance at the Opera Garnier - le sigh! This magnificent theatre with its gold décor is simply stunning. Tonight, I'm ready to be transported to another world, enthralled by the grace and artistry of some of the most talented ballet dancers in the world.
And after the ballet, my plans include a delicious French dinner followed by a visit to one of Paris’ most charming cafes for a warm chocolat chaud - my perfect ending to this blissful Parisian day!
Inspiring Parisian Glamour!
There is something undeniably glamorous about the way Parisians dress - elegant and chic with an air of effortless confidence. Even in my pink tutu, I feel as if I blend in beautifully here - and, if truth be told, perhaps I encourage others to embrace their own unique style a little more. After all, why not add a splash of pink, or perhaps a touch of tulle, to your outfit?
My mission in life, dear readers, is to spread the joy of tutus around the world - and to encourage everyone to express themselves freely through fashion, dance, and of course, a whole lot of pink!
