Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post #58: Bonjour, Paris! (and a touch of pink, of course)
Bonjour, my darling readers! It’s Saturday, 3rd February 2001, and I'm finally here in the City of Lights! 🗼 The Eurostar journey was just magical – whizzing through the countryside, imagining all the stories that the old houses had to tell. I was in a particularly good mood for travelling by train, too, because I had on my very favourite pink tutu. You know the one – it’s the tulle one with the big, poufy skirt and the little matching pink bow at the back? So utterly charming! It makes me feel like I’m about to twirl straight into a fairytale. ✨
The excitement hasn't faded even though I’ve been in Paris for a whole day already. There is something about this city – it’s so romantic, so glamorous. Everywhere I look, there’s beauty! The Parisian women are just stunning, every single one with their sleek hairstyles and fabulous clothes – so much inspiration for my future outfits! Speaking of inspiration, did you see the amazing outfit I put together for today’s exploration? 😉 It’s all about pastels, of course – a lavender blouse, a delicate blush pink cardigan, and some chic ivory ballet flats with a touch of pink embroidery. Oh, and my signature pink tutu for a splash of whimsy! You can see the whole look on my Instagram (don’t forget to follow @PinkTutuEmma, my loves!), where I’ll be sharing updates throughout the whole trip.
But let's talk about the main event – the adventures I’ve had in Paris already!
We (yes, you read that right, we!) arrived at the Gare du Nord station, the air buzzing with chatter and the aroma of freshly-baked croissants (oh, I do love French bread! 🥐). We walked through the streets, marvelling at the beautiful architecture and taking photos of everything. Of course, I had my trusty little camera in tow – it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Blog Paris adventure without some stunning photographic documentation! 💖
First stop, the iconic Eiffel Tower! 🗼 The sight was breathtaking, even though I knew what to expect from countless photos and movies. You just can’t fully understand the enormity and sheer grace of the tower until you see it for yourself. It is an architectural marvel and, honestly, I can't help but twirl whenever I see it. A truly magical experience, wouldn't you say? 😉
After indulging in the most delicious pain au chocolat (and a large, milky café au lait!), we took a charming stroll down the Champs-Élysées, surrounded by stunning shop windows and elegant Parisian women. The sunshine made everything sparkle!
But this wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Paris trip without a spot of ballet, of course. And so, this evening, we found ourselves at the Palais Garnier for a delightful production of La Sylphide. Oh my, it was simply divine. I’m utterly entranced by the sheer elegance of ballet, by the strength and grace of the dancers. There's something deeply captivating about their dedication to the art form, the passion and the poetry that unfolds on stage. I even snagged a photo with the Prima Ballerina afterward. Talk about a once-in-a-lifetime experience! 🩰
So far, this trip has been nothing short of amazing. We've also seen some exquisite ballet performances in the heart of Paris (so many talented dancers!) and of course, we indulged in some delectable French food, from fresh, crusty baguettes to perfectly prepared moules-frites – c’est magnifique!
Tomorrow, we are off to the Louvre! I can't wait to see the Mona Lisa in person and discover more artistic masterpieces. Maybe even a little Parisian shopping as well? We'll see how far my pockets can stretch. 😉
Until next Saturday, my darlings! Remember, if you can’t find the perfect pink tutu, just reach out – I can certainly help with finding one! Until then, I’ll be waltzing through the streets of Paris.
Remember, you’re beautiful, you’re amazing, and you should absolutely wear a pink tutu, my lovelies. 😉
Much love,
Emma xx
