Pink Tutu Blog - Paris: #63

Bonjour from the City of Lights!

Well, here I am in the beautiful, romantic city of Paris! I've been waiting ages for this trip. I knew I had to come here in the springtime, all the cherry blossoms and the flowers in bloom make it the most perfect time for pink tutus. ๐ŸŒธ

I took the Eurostar train from London to Paris - always such a luxurious way to travel! Especially in first class with its cushy leather seats and champagne on tap - pure magic! ๐Ÿฅ‚ Of course, I travelled in my trademark pink tutu - why would I ever wear anything else when I'm about to discover such a wonderful city?! It got a lot of admiring glances from the fellow passengers. I can tell Paris is going to love pink!

Arriving in Paris Gare du Nord, the atmosphere was buzzing with life! Such excitement, with its iconic stained glass ceilings and all the chattering French people, oh, I felt a thrill go right through me! This place is seriously fabulous. The Parisian people have the most impeccable style. Chic Parisian women strutting by with chic bobbed hairdos and stylish men with their chic berets, this city oozes cool. I, of course, just stand out even more with my pink tutu and the feather boa I just had to wear as my special something.

Oh, I simply must tell you all about the fabulous vintage clothing store I stumbled across after I arrived. Just imagine: racks of vintage clothes in soft, feminine shades of pink, powder blue, lilac and peach! It was heaven. I couldn't resist adding a gorgeous 1950s Dior dress in a dusty rose shade to my suitcase! Can't wait to rock it when I see the Eiffel Tower! ๐Ÿ’– I know you will just love my next Insta post showing it off. It's perfect to wear to a ballet performance. Speaking of which, Paris has a flourishing ballet scene and I already have a couple of tickets to see "Swan Lake" on Sunday - I can't wait to see it. My tutu, naturally, will make an appearance!

Today though, I thought I would stroll down the Champs Elysees and soak in the Parisian ambience! As I ambled down the tree-lined avenue, admiring the beautiful shops and elegant cafรฉs, I felt like I was in a Parisian movie! ๐ŸŽฅ My pink tutu certainly turned heads and drew smiles. A friendly cafe owner even offered me a glass of French rose. She told me in broken English, "You have so much energy, you are like a pretty, pink bird flying down this road." Isn't that sweet?! ๐Ÿฆ It made my day!

Paris has so much to offer - grand architecture, breathtaking scenery, exquisite food, and of course, world-class ballet! ๐Ÿฉฐ I'm on a mission to see all the classic landmarks like the Louvre Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, and of course, that most iconic Parisian landmark - the Eiffel Tower. The moment I spotted the majestic iron structure against the beautiful, clear Parisian sky, my heart skipped a beat! I swear the whole of Paris stood still while I posed for some photos!

After the Eiffel Tower, I stopped in the lovely Luxembourg Gardens - oh my, they're such a breath of fresh air! I did some ballet-style jumping amongst the pink roses in the gardens - well, the pink tutus were quite the contrast, darling. And, the flowers there are blooming in the most amazing colours - pink, of course, but also red, yellow, white and purple. The colours made me feel just giddy with happiness! This has been a wonderful first day in Paris.

My lovely pink tutu and I are off to explore the city more!

Tips for Paris Travel: * Book your tickets in advance, especially if you plan to see popular attractions, concerts, or shows. * Bring comfy shoes. The streets are beautifully paved, but there are some steep cobblestone areas! I know some of you love your little designer heeled slippers, but do listen to me, get a pair of comfy trainers, it's good to keep the blisters at bay. * Bring your "French" style with you! For me, of course, that means pink! * Don't be afraid to take photos. Remember to bring a portable phone charger - I forgot mine on my first trip here and had to rely on some lovely cafรฉ wifi. It is all too tempting to post lots of fabulous Instagram shots! But be aware of where you're taking your selfies, sometimes the best locations for you might not be the safest to capture with your phone.
* Learn a few basic French phrases. The locals really appreciate it! I know my French isn't brilliant, but it always helps to show you're making an effort.

And to anyone thinking about planning a trip to Paris - go for it! ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท It's an unforgettable experience. I'll be sure to post again soon! And I promise you all, it won't be my last post from Paris.

See you on www.pink-tutu.com next Saturday for more Paris adventures!

Bisous,

Emma ๐Ÿ’–
