#PinkTutuBlogParis: A Whirlwind Week in the City of Lights (Post #64)
Bonjour, darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina, Emma, here, back from a whirlwind week in the City of Lights, Paris! If you haven't been already, let me tell you, it is everything you imagine it to be. Effortless chic, romantic cobblestone streets, impossibly delicious pastries - just dreamy!
This week's adventure started with a high-speed dash on the Eurostar - the glamour of Parisian life starts the moment you step on that train. Did you know there's free WiFi? You can keep up with the latest trends and even plan your Paris shopping spree - who said travelling can't be productive?
Speaking of shopping, oh my goodness! My first order of business was hitting up the Marais, home to so many charming boutiques, quirky independent shops and oh, the clothes! Let me tell you, even the shop assistants in Paris exude an effortless je ne sais quoi, I couldn't resist taking a few sartorial notes, because who wouldn't want to embrace a bit of Parisian flair? (My wallet might disagree, but hey, when in Rome... or in Paris!) I definitely had to get my pink fix with a dreamy new silk scarf, and a pair of Parisian chic ballerinas in blush pink (yes, pink goes with everything, and you know how I love a good outfit pairing!)
Now, you know I'm a creature of habit when it comes to tutus, and the pink tutu was certainly out in full force. I even tried on a fabulous tulle tutu in a vintage shop - they have some seriously amazing collections tucked away in the cobbled streets.
While the city itself was inspiring enough, the ultimate Parisian highlight was seeing a magnificent performance at the Opéra Garnier. Imagine, gold gilding, soaring balconies, and an exquisite ballet telling the story of a captivating princess and her handsome prince. Just dreamy, darlings! You could say my pink tutu was almost outshone (almost!)
And the food, oh my goodness, the food! Freshly baked croissants in the mornings, croque-monsieurs for lunch, perfectly creamy macarons... and even a truly indulgent crêpe or two (I confess, I may have indulged a little too much!). It is all SO unbelievably delicious!
But the true heart of this Parisian adventure was the city itself. Wandering around the cobblestone streets, soaking in the beautiful architecture, and indulging in every moment, I felt myself fall completely in love with the romance and charm of Paris.
One thing's for sure, I'll be back! So get your pink tutus at the ready, my lovely ballerinas - you'll never truly experience Paris until you wear a tutu through the City of Lights!
As for next week, I'm heading back to Derbyshire, where I'll be taking to the stage at the local theatre. So stay tuned for a post full of dancey goodness and behind-the-scenes peeks at life as a pink-tutu-wearing ballerina.
See you next Saturday, my darlings!
XOXO
Emma
