Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post Number 65: Oh la la! Parisian Dreams Come True

Bonjour, mes chéries!

This week, I’m in Paris. Paris! Can you believe it? I've been dreaming of this trip for so long and finally, it’s here. The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the gorgeous French pastries... it's all a dream come true! And naturally, I'm wearing my pink tutu, because why not?!

It all began with a whirlwind journey on the Eurostar. I packed my pink tutu (a delicate pink this time, with sparkling tulle - just perfect for the City of Lights!), my favourite pair of ballet shoes (worn, but oh-so-comfortable!), a suitcase full of frilly frocks, and a heart overflowing with excitement.

This week, I'm taking you along on my Parisian adventures. Get ready for croissants and champagne, shopping sprees and street performances, and everything fabulous in between. I might even try on a beret... I know, I know, very cliché, but wouldn't it be cute in my pink tutu?!

From Derbyshire to the City of Love:

My journey began at the quaint Derbyshire station. A dash of nostalgia always lingers when I’m there, reminiscing about the endless hours I’ve spent dancing in the studios, fuelled by dreams of grand Parisian stages. This time, my stage is the city itself, and I’m ready to perform a delightful dance of exploration and fun!

My pink tutu, of course, was my travelling companion, looking positively fetching in the train's dimly lit cabin. Even the weary businessmen and families on the train couldn't resist a smile at the sight of it, which, to me, is just the beginning of a delightful transformation. One pink tutu at a time, you know?!

Arriving in Style:

Paris Gare du Nord is, well, a station, but also a doorway to magic! The streets of Paris were already whispering secrets as I emerged, brimming with that Parisian energy that's so unlike anything else. My nose twitched, the aroma of freshly baked bread and strong, heady coffee wafting through the air – so delightful!

I decided on a little Parisian ballet performance in the square just outside the station – a mini "Pink Tutu Serenade" as I called it. I danced for a bit, feeling the cobblestones beneath my feet and the warmth of the sun on my face. The passersby cheered, clapping along to my little routine. Paris is just the right backdrop for a ballerina and her pink tutu, if you ask me!

A Parisian Day:

Saturday dawned, a masterpiece of Parisian charm. It was a day for croissants and coffee, the scent of freshly baked pastries greeting me like a friend. Paris truly is a city of delectable delights, and my taste buds couldn't wait to embark on a gourmet adventure!

My first stop was a little patisserie tucked away in a quaint street – the perfect place for some people watching, and even a mini tutu ballet performance amongst the pastries! Let’s just say I was rather convincing as a delicious dessert... at least, I thought so. The locals were certainly intrigued.

Later, we explored the streets around the famous Marais district, my pink tutu swirling with joy as I navigated the charming shops and boutiques. The clothes in the window displays, especially those gorgeous little hats with feathers...oh la la! It was enough to make any girl feel like a Parisian fashion icon.

Fashion Fun in Paris:

Speaking of fashion, it simply wouldn’t be a Parisian adventure without a shopping spree! This weekend, I’ve decided to indulge in my passion for all things chic and extravagant. And no, this is not about acquiring mountains of dresses and shoes (although, perhaps I will...) - it's about finding pieces that embody the Parisian essence. Think bold, elegant, a little bit mischievous, and absolutely breathtaking!

My pink tutu has become a magnet for compliments and friendly faces as I sauntered down the avenues. The ladies in the shops even suggested a pink beret to complement my tutu, an idea that made my heart flutter with excitement! It’s true what they say about Parisian fashion – the boldness to experiment and celebrate one’s own style is truly remarkable.

The Grand Ballet:

Of course, no Parisian adventure would be complete without a visit to the world-renowned Paris Opera! Imagine, all that ballet brilliance, just waiting to be experienced... it's almost too much excitement!

I was mesmerized by the sheer beauty of the building itself, the ornate architecture, the history whispering from its grand pillars and marble stairs... truly breathtaking! My pink tutu felt right at home in that world of elegant beauty. And as the curtains opened for a breathtaking performance of Swan Lake, I was completely transported.

Every pirouette, every jump, every whispered note of the orchestra... it was pure magic! A fitting end to a fantastic day filled with Parisian enchantment. I must admit, it made me think... Perhaps my pink tutu belongs on a Parisian stage? I mean, if they can wear feathers on their heads at the opera, why not a ballerina's pink tutu?

My Parisian Wish:

I want every little girl in Paris to wear a pink tutu! Don't worry, I'm not advocating a mandatory dress code. It’s more of a call to embrace the freedom to express ourselves, to twirl with confidence and radiate joy. Think about it... a city of twirling ballerinas, their pink tutus bouncing in the air... what a fantastic vision! I believe Paris is ready for this - in fact, it’s already brimming with vibrant energy!

This city has a magical quality about it that inspires dreams and fuels passion. I know in my heart that it's where I need to be, dancing my way through life, sharing my love of the pink tutu, and spreading a little sparkle wherever I go.

Until next Saturday, mes chéries! Au revoir!
