Pink Tutu Paris: Blog Post #67 – A Parisian Ballet Adventure!

Bonjour, darlings! It's Emma, your pink tutu-clad blogger, back with another Parisian adventure straight from the City of Lights! This week, I hopped on the EuroStar (feeling every bit the chic Parisian en route, of course!), and landed in the heart of Paris – a city that feels like it was designed for a ballerina like myself!

Remember that whole “Paris is always a good idea” quote? Well, I'm living proof! The city truly is enchanting, and the energy is just so electric, especially in springtime!

But before we dive into all the chic Parisian details, let's talk about the most important thing…

Tutus in the City of Lights!

Every time I visit a new city, my main mission is to sprinkle a bit of pink tutu magic, and Paris is no exception. Honestly, I can't remember a place I've been where tutus haven't been received with open arms, but the French have a special love affair with all things theatrical! I spent a happy morning browsing Parisian boutiques, and wouldn't you know it? I found the most darling, pale pink, vintage-inspired tutu – perfect for a Parisian stroll. You just know I had to have it!

(Of course, I have plenty of pink tutu pictures on my Instagram page – you know, just in case you need some fashion inspiration! ;) )

A Ballet Daydream Come True!

My first day in Paris involved the most beautiful Parisian experience: an afternoon spent watching a truly spectacular ballet performance at the Palais Garnier Opera House. The stage was breathtaking, and the dancers moved with a grace that was simply enchanting. This was not just ballet; it was a theatrical feast for the senses!

Even better? I happened to be right next to an adorable French gentleman in a magnificent tuxedo. Turns out he’s a renowned Parisian fashion photographer! I knew from the moment he smiled at me as the lights dimmed that we’d be soulmates – perhaps I’ll add him to my pink tutu photo shoot ideas next week.

(For those of you in the know, I’ll have my photo up soon on the www.pink-tutu.com site.)

Fashion Fun: The Montmartre Market & The Boutiques

No trip to Paris is complete without exploring the famous Montmartre district! It was like stepping out of a romantic Parisian movie. I lost myself in the labyrinthine cobbled streets, breathing in the vibrant energy of the artistic quarter, and marvelling at the colourful Montmartre market.

Of course, what’s a pink tutu enthusiast to do but indulge in a spot of high-end shopping in the iconic Galeries Lafayette department store? I’m all about classic French style, but with a playful, pink tutu twist – think Chanel meets a sprinkle of magical fairy dust. The only thing more fabulous than their designer shoes is their extraordinary collection of ballerina flats. (I snagged a pair of blush pink pumps - my feet have never felt so pampered!)

Parisian Splendour: The Eiffel Tower & The Louvre

There's no way I could leave Paris without climbing the iconic Eiffel Tower and seeing its breathtaking view of the city – the Seine glistening like a shimmering ribbon, the golden dome of the Invalides glinting in the sunshine, and all the Parisian charm swirling around like magic. I even treated myself to a Parisian macaron – how divine is that?

Then it was onto the Louvre. I was in awe of the grand architecture and of course, had to take a picture with the famous Mona Lisa. Even after hundreds of years, her mysterious smile holds a kind of spell.

(Check my website for the perfect photogenic pose! My best friend Lucy is a fashion photographer back in Derby. We have an agreement - I take all the photos and Lucy helps me take the most elegant pictures with her knowledge!)

An Evening on the Champs-Élysées

The day concluded with a leisurely stroll down the majestic Champs-Élysées. The Parisian lights were twinkling, and the air was thick with excitement. After indulging in a delicious Parisian crepe (chocolate, of course! It’s the perfect pink tutu treat!) I found myself admiring the shop windows of some of the most famous luxury brands.

I did briefly imagine myself entering the opulent lobby of the Ritz Hotel, having champagne in hand while dressed in a fabulous pink tutu and ballet shoes! I thought it was very elegant and French!

Travel Notes

This journey by EuroStar to Paris was simply wonderful – it felt like a chic ballet trip – a ballet performance of a different kind! My comfy carriage (and a little bit of pink-tutu-themed decor, courtesy of myself, of course) helped transform the ride into an exciting part of the adventure.

And speaking of adventures… Next week, I'm going to be exploring the beautiful countryside surrounding Paris - imagine pink tutus in the vineyards and meadows!

I can't wait to share all my lovely discoveries and Parisian secrets with you next Saturday, darlings! Don't forget to visit the www.pink-tutu.com website for even more fabulous Parisian adventures! Until then, stay inspired, stay magical, and keep twirling those tutus!

Love, Emma

P.S. Don’t forget, I fund my adventures through performing – remember that! I’ve booked two ballet shows in Derby next week at The Globe and the Hippodrome – I’d love to see you there! You can get tickets through my website – ahem, that’s the link above - wink wink! 😉

(It would be great to see some of my lovely fans come and watch my shows! Let’s make a splash!)
