Pink Tutu Paris - Post Number 98: Oh là là! The City of Lights, Pink & Tutus!

Bonjour mes chéries!

It's Emma here, your resident pink tutu-clad blogger, straight from the heart of Paris. It’s Saturday 10th November 2001, and I’m practically skipping with glee as I write this. Can you believe I'm in Paris?!

This dream trip feels like a real-life fairytale. I left Derbyshire bright and early, aboard the EuroStar - oh, the glamour! It's a wonder the train didn't sprout a pair of wings, it felt that magical! Now, I'm nestled in a charming little Parisian hotel, just a stone's throw from the Eiffel Tower. Did I mention it's the most beautiful building in the whole world?! Seriously, darling, the sight of its glittering lights against the evening sky… well, it's enough to make you blush!

My week here has been a whirl of wonder and pink tutus. Let me fill you in on every sparkly detail...

Tuesday: I knew I had to start this adventure on the right foot - literally! I donned my favourite, the "Bonjour Paris" tutu, all shades of blush and ivory, and waltzed straight to a delightful ballet class in the Marais. We swirled through classic French exercises and ended with a beautifully-choreographed sequence from Swan Lake. It's safe to say, my toes were tapping throughout the week!

Wednesday: Shopping in Paris is practically an Olympic sport! After breakfast at a charming patisserie, I found myself on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. My, oh my! What a dazzling, stylish array of clothes, hats, shoes, and even some stunning tutus - did you know there are shops dedicated just to tutus?! Of course, I just had to nab a gorgeous pair of ruby red ballerina flats and a beautiful powder-pink scarf that practically screams Paris chic!

Thursday: I was a little giddy, I admit, as I made my way to the Palais Garnier, the Paris Opera House! The opulent decor took my breath away, and seeing the incredible Sleeping Beauty ballet performance had me transported into a dream world. Those costumes, the dancing, the sheer talent! Every little girl wants to be a princess, darling, and that night, I was one!

Friday: A romantic carriage ride through the cobblestone streets with the twinkling city lights surrounding me - that's how I decided to embrace the Parisian evening. Did you know that Parisians have horses instead of buses?! Quelle surprise! It felt like I was right out of a film. And guess what, I even bumped into a delightful troupe of street performers dressed in pink tutus doing a choreographed ballet to French jazz. Now, THAT is what I call magical street art!

Saturday: Well, here I am, writing to you from the quaint café at my hotel, with a warm cup of chocolate and a croissant in hand, trying to make the most of my Parisian afternoon. The day calls for a leisurely walk down the Seine and maybe, just maybe, a trip to the Musée d'Orsay to admire the artwork that inspires dancers like me. But don't worry, I'll update you with more photos and adventures later on!

Speaking of adventures, do you know what’s magical about this place? Everyone here seems to embrace life's little moments of joy - whether it's stopping to smell the croissants, admiring the Parisian street musicians, or watching the sunlight play across the Seine. And you know what, darling? A touch of pink is all it takes to make those moments even more special. Isn't that the message of our #PinkTutuParis adventure, after all?

If there’s anything you’d like to know about my trip, anything Parisian, anything ballet related, or even just about my newest pink tutu additions – don't hesitate to leave a comment below! I love to hear from you, dear readers, and answer your questions.

And who knows, maybe next week, I'll even give you some tips on how to incorporate the pink tutu in your own daily life! You never know where the magical winds of fashion might take us, darling.

Until then,

Au revoir and a big pink tutu kiss!

Emma
