Pink Tutu Blog Paris - #99 Saturday 17th November 2001 - A Day of Parisian Dreams!

Bonjour mes amis!

It's your favourite tutu-clad adventurer, Emma, checking in from the City of Lights! This weekend, I decided to finally fulfil a lifelong dream and whisk myself off to Paris, and let me tell you, it has not disappointed!

The journey itself was magical. From my Derbyshire home, I hopped on the EuroStar, a majestic train that whisked me across the channel at breakneck speed. Even though I wasn't quite gliding on the stage, I felt a thrill of excitement that rivalled the energy of a triple pirouette!

Arriving at Gare du Nord, I was met with a symphony of Parisian charm – the bustling crowds, the beautiful architecture, and the oh-so-chic cafes all whispering "welcome, Emma!" I immediately knew this city was meant for me.

After settling into my charming little hotel – think twinkling lights, vintage Parisian charm and just the tiniest hint of pink! - I set out to explore this glorious city. My first stop? A Parisian fashion house, naturally! It’s hard to resist the call of the catwalk when you’re in the fashion capital of the world! I was delighted to discover a beautiful pink velvet hat that I knew was absolutely destined for my wardrobe. The shop assistant, a stylish Parisian woman with a flair for fashion, said I "radiated Parisian chic!" You can't ask for a better compliment than that!

My next stop, the pièce de résistance, was a ballet performance at the magnificent Opéra Garnier. The architecture was breathtaking – all gilded ceilings and intricate marble work - the performance was just as stunning! Every movement, every arabesque, every jump filled me with wonder.

This evening, I also witnessed the beautiful spectacle of a ballets de rue – ballet performances that were set on the cobbled streets. Such grace and talent on display! The costumes were all so glamorous. And it reminded me that ballet is meant to be shared.

As the night fell, the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower painted the Parisian sky, casting an enchanting glow on the streets below.

This truly has been a dream come true. Every corner I turn, every sight I see, fills me with joy and inspiration. And don't worry, I haven't forgotten my mission – spreading the pink tutu love!

This charming city has made me feel like a Parisian princess. But you know, I think Paris might be missing a certain something... perhaps a touch of pink!

I am planning on taking my own Parisian pink tutu-themed photo shoot – just watch out, Paris, I'm about to transform your streets with a sprinkle of tutu magic!

And remember, friends, keep on dancing, keep on dreaming, and keep on wearing those pink tutus!

Bisous,

Emma
