Pink Tutu Blog: Paris, Week 110!

Bonjour mes amies! It's Saturday, the 2nd of February 2002, and I'm writing this from my Parisian hotel room, just a stone's throw from the iconic Eiffel Tower. It’s my second week in Paris, and already I feel like I've been swept away into a whimsical ballet, a whirl of breathtaking scenery, and chic Parisian charm.

My Pink-Filled Paris Adventure: An Eurostar Romance

This week began in the usual Pink Tutu style - with a train journey! Oh, how I adore the Eurostar! The speed, the sleekness, and the romance of crossing a border in style are a real thrill. Of course, I added a dash of my signature pink to the journey with my new "Tutu Travel" pink luggage tag, featuring a delicate ballerina silhouette dancing amongst cherry blossom flowers. This journey wasn't just a commute; it was a ballerina's ballet to Paris.

Parisian Charm and a Ballerina's Paradise

Paris is a city that truly dances to its own rhythm. Stepping off the Eurostar, I felt a surge of exhilaration! I had to stop myself from twirling in the middle of the Gare du Nord station. You just can't help but be inspired by the energy of this magical place. It's brimming with artistic flair and that Parisian je ne sais quoi, a feeling of carefree charm and unbridled creativity. And this weekend, the charm of Paris truly twirled into my heart, thanks to a couple of special outings:

The Theatre Du Chatelet: An Enchanting Evening of Opera

On Thursday night, I attended an opera at the beautiful Theatre Du Chatelet. Imagine this: gilded balconies, plush velvet seats, the thrum of anticipation before the curtains rise. I wore my cherry blossom pink tulle skirt (an absolute Parisian must-have) and my favourite cherry blossom pink ballet pumps (so comfy for long evenings!). I was a little nervous going to an opera; it was a new experience, but the performers' voices were powerful, the costumes dazzling, and the emotions it evoked were utterly captivating. It felt like a ballet for the voice - all grace, drama, and feeling.

The Musée Rodin: A Whirl of Sculptures and Inspirations

Friday was dedicated to an exploration of the beautiful Musée Rodin. Stepping through the gates, I found myself immersed in a verdant world of exquisite sculptures - Rodin’s vision embodied in stone and bronze. Each statue told a story, a feeling. My favourite, 'The Thinker', seemed to be deep in thought, reflecting upon his own creation – a silent muse who sparked my creative energy and left me pondering art and life. It’s a place I would happily return to and sit among the beautiful sculptures with my sketchbook.

Finding My Pink Paradise: A Parisian Fashion Frenzy

I had to get my Parisian shopping fix this week, too! After all, every pink-tutu-loving girl deserves to feel like she's stepped out of a fairytale when she visits Paris. My top destination? The legendary Rue de Rivoli. My quest, naturally, was for the ultimate pink tutu for a Parisian photoshoot! After scouring the shops, I found a dazzling, frilled pink tutu in a little boutique near the Place Vendôme – perfectly in tune with my Paris style.

I even managed to snap up a darling pink berret - you know, one of those classic French hats? I wore it to lunch on Saturday in a little bistro in Montmartre. I felt so chic with my new beret perched atop my pink tutu skirt - just like the elegant ladies I'd seen walking around the streets! It's amazing how fashion can make you feel like you belong in a particular place - and in Paris, pink is definitely the colour of belonging.

Pink Tutu: It's Catchy! It's Parisian!

It's funny, I see more pink in Paris than anywhere else! I've even noticed a few people staring at my tutu with curious smiles. Perhaps I’m inspiring some of them to unleash their own inner pink, their own inner ballerina? The world needs a touch more pink!

Speaking of the world needing pink… You can keep up with my pink-tutu Paris adventures by subscribing to www.pink-tutu.com! You can follow me on my journey from Derbyshire, England, through France, and beyond. And who knows, maybe one day we'll even be dancing in the Parisian streets together, twirling in our own pink tutus!

À bientôt mes chères!

Emma
