#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #113: A Parisian Pink Dream

Bonjour, mes chéries! Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to the City of Lights! And I have to tell you, Paris lived up to all the hype… and then some! It was absolutely magnifique, from the cobbled streets to the stunning architecture to the chic Parisians strolling with their impossibly cute dogs.

This week, I travelled by the Eurostar, the epitome of Parisian glamour. My tutu of the week was a stunning hot pink creation, a bit shorter than usual, perfect for the elegant Parisian streets. (I know some of you thought it was a tad risqué for a train journey, but honestly, a tutu never goes out of style. It's like a uniform of elegance. ;) ) I’ve learned that you never over-pack a tutu or your wardrobe for a trip like this - because who knows what stunning opportunities to twirl await around every corner!

This trip was extra special as I was lucky enough to catch a performance of Swan Lake at the Opera Garnier, which is absolutely my all-time favourite ballet! The whole theatre is so grand, a dream for a ballet lover. And oh my, the dancers! Their grace, their poise, their panache. The perfect combination of athleticism and artistry – simply divine. My little ballerina heart practically exploded with joy!

And now, let's talk fashion! You all know my weakness, so prepare yourselves. First stop: a lovely little vintage boutique, overflowing with beautiful dresses, scarves, and shoes, perfect for a glamorous Parisian adventure! Of course, the main colours of this particular vintage treasure trove were shades of blush, lavender, and – you guessed it! – pink! I couldn’t resist adding a darling pair of vintage pink ballerina pumps to my already substantial pink tutu collection. You simply can't have too many, darling. Trust me.

We took a stroll along the Seine after the show, and the twinkling lights on the bridges were magical! My cher ami and I had the most delightful crêpes with the most perfect dollop of crème fraîche, as you can imagine, with pink sprinkles. Because every crêpe needs a little extra, no?

On the day itself, I took in the sights! A must-do is walking down the Champs-Élysées, that magnificent avenue that makes you feel like you've stepped into a fairytale. The shops! Oh, the shops! My coeur melted. Then, the Eiffel Tower, iconic as always! A moment to pause and take in the sheer brilliance of its iron lattice, as dramatic and beautiful as a perfect pirouette! Of course, I couldn't resist the perfectly pink crêpes I picked up right at the base, enjoyed with a panoramic view of the city that never sleeps.

After the Eiffel Tower, we took a leisurely horse-drawn carriage ride. And it was here that the beauty of this city really surfaced – not a bad word play, considering this was the capital city! A bit slower pace than the Eurostar, obviously. We travelled through the cobblestone streets, passing the Louvre (which looked equally magical under the Parisian lights!). But really, who could have the energy for even more galleries?

But wait, there’s more! In the evening, I took an uber-stylish tour around Montmartre, a Parisian gem! A neighbourhood steeped in art and culture, overflowing with tiny charming studios. I just fell in love with the winding alleyways, where I imagined artists and writers sipping coffee in sidewalk cafes and, of course, enjoying life! And let’s be honest – Parisian lifestyle is certainly an art.

And speaking of life's art, my evening was complete by a charming French theatre performance of Cyrano de Bergerac! Très romantique with so much drama, humour, and passion that I swear, it brought tears to my eyes! Not to mention, of course, the enchanting tutus worn by the dancers and the sheer artistry! My pink tutu couldn't help but sway slightly in solidarity during some of the performance. As you know, I have to pay tribute!

Of course, every trip to Paris includes shopping at Galleries Lafayette! The very epitome of luxurious fashion! (I swear they have every pink shade known to humankind - truly incredible!) They do have the most exquisite lingerie in a variety of colours! I bought a matching set for a certain ballet class in a dusky pink. Swoon. My tutu has officially been complimented!

But, my cheries, all good things must come to an end. The Eurostar beckoned! A slightly tearful departure after such a wonderful time… But I leave you all with this message: Paris has enchanted my heart – and so, as you know, it was only a matter of time until your Parisian tutu dreams would be answered. Paris is a beautiful ballet in motion! And yes, there is certainly a space in your wardrobe (and your heart!) for the Parisian Pink Tutu! Until next Saturday! Au revoir, mes chéries!
