Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post #114: Ooh la la! A Whirlwind Weekend in the City of Lights!

Hello, darlings! It's Emma here, and I'm just bursting with excitement to share my Parisian adventures with you! This past weekend, I took the plunge (or perhaps I should say the twirl!) and hopped on the Eurostar to experience the magic of Paris, the City of Love, the City of Lights, the city where pink tutus feel oh-so-at-home!

Now, you all know I love a good train journey - especially when it's on a super-speedy Eurostar. It's all about the glam and the anticipation! This time, I was feeling extra fancy with a bright pink beret on my head, a darling little pink tulle dress with my favourite fluffy pink tutu swirling just below. My darling friends, it’s all about embracing the pink tutu lifestyle! And believe me, Parisians are definitely ready for it - they've got great taste and even better style.

Paris: Day One - Bonjour, Mon Chérie!

I landed (or rather, I twirled in) to Paris feeling absolutely like a princess. The cobbled streets, the elegant cafes with their red and white striped awnings, and the chic people strolling by...it was like walking through a charming fairy tale.

The first thing I did was treat myself to a scrumptious macaron from Ladurée! Now, don't be fooled by the dainty size, these macarons are little taste explosions. I opted for the classic raspberry flavour, and oh my goodness, it was simply divine! Pink and delicious? Absolutely perfect!

After my sugary delight, I spent the afternoon browsing the vintage shops near the Seine. One store, "Le Marchand de Mode" was a total gem. They had the most wonderful selection of 1950s dresses and hats, perfect for channeling a bit of Parisian chic. I snagged a gorgeous vintage fuchsia hat that matches my favourite tutu - it's like a piece of Parisian history I can wear and twirl with!

And, speaking of twirling...no trip to Paris would be complete without a ballet performance. This evening, I had the pleasure of seeing "La Bayadère" at the Palais Garnier, one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world. The ballerinas, dressed in magnificent tutus, glided across the stage with effortless grace, and the choreography was breathtaking. It just felt right - Paris and ballet, hand in hand!

Later that evening, I dined in a small bistro in Montmartre with a view of the Sacré-Coeur basilica, bathed in the soft glow of the city lights. It felt so Parisian! The waiter, a charming Parisian man, gave me the most romantic rose for my tutu and called me "Mademoiselle Ballerina"! Oh la la!

Day Two - Le Louvre, le Shopping and Oh So Much Pink!

Today, I felt inspired to paint the town (pink), naturally. My morning began with a visit to the Louvre. While Michelangelo’s David and Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa are the main attractions for most people, my real star was "Venus de Milo". Now, she's not pink, but with that white marble sculpted body...it just made me think of how wonderfully powerful women are! And to think, the beautiful "Venus" is missing her arms...but look at how powerful she looks! She’s inspiring. A woman can conquer anything - even the world in a pink tutu!

My afternoon was a whirl of shopping - oh la la! It wasn’t just for fashion! I did, however, get the most gorgeous fuchsia scarf for my next pink tutu creation. And let’s be honest, the Parisian style is utterly fabulous, and it is no wonder the pink tutu vibe works so well here.

Day Three: A Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride - The ultimate Paris Chic Experience

What's more romantic and Parisienne than a horse-drawn carriage ride through the city's most iconic landmarks? Just imagine, my tulle and my tutu floating in the breeze, with the city sights whizzing by…it was utterly magical!

And then came the Eiffel Tower. It’s an architectural wonder. It's everything people say it is: breathtakingly beautiful, grand, elegant, and utterly enchanting. I sat in the sunshine at the foot of this magnificent structure, feeling a rush of happiness and inspiration. Paris had captured my heart and soul.

Later that day, I treated myself to a little piece of Parisian history at the Moulin Rouge. Oh, those iconic red windmills, the fabulous dancers, the sparkling costumes and the can-can performance. Every part of it was dazzling, just like a pink tutu itself!

Pink Tutu Inspirations Galore

I can't tell you how much inspiration I gleaned from this weekend in Paris. I feel as though I’ve fallen in love with this city and its elegant vibes. I already know that the pink tutu look is going to be a huge part of my future wardrobe and will take the London streets by storm, because as they say, "when in Rome..."

Oh, one more thing!
