Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post 139 - Saturday, August 24th, 2002: Paris, Mon Amour!

Bonjour, darlings! It's your favourite tutu-clad traveller, Emma, reporting live from the City of Lights! The Eurostar whisked me through the countryside like a pink feather in the wind, arriving in Paris feeling oh-so-fabulous, ready to conquer this magical city. And conquer it I shall, one tutu-tastic outfit at a time!

This trip is a whirlwind of excitement, fuelled by my recent performance with the Derbyshire Dance Ensemble. The crowd went wild for our rendition of Swan Lake, showering us with flowers and bravos - which of course meant more pink tutu funds! Paris is the perfect destination to indulge in my love of all things theatrical, and believe me, this week is going to be a sartorial masterpiece!

First things first, finding the perfect Parisian boutique! I can’t wait to dive into the charming, quaint shops that line the city's beautiful streets, and oh, the dresses! I dream of finding the perfect little black number with a touch of pink - perhaps a dainty floral print or a delicate ruffle detail. I must confess, I even considered a slightly bolder approach – a striking pink and black cocktail dress that could become my signature look for a grand opening at the theatre!

Of course, a Parisian adventure wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the legendary Moulin Rouge. Tonight, I'm catching the spectacular show and dreaming of dancing on its famed stage in my most magnificent pink tutu, a vision of grace and glamour in the red-light district! A true dream come true for any budding ballerina like myself.

Shopping, shows, and…ballet, you ask? Absolutely! The iconic Opéra Garnier beckons, and I'm thrilled to be attending a class later this week, eager to brush up on my technique and perhaps glean some Parisian elegance from the graceful teachers there.

Speaking of elegant, my trusty French dictionary, complete with illustrations, will guide me through the enchanting cafes and markets of Paris. I envision myself strolling through the bustling Place des Vosges, clutching a coffee in one hand and my favourite blush pink handbag in the other, a vision of Parisian chic. My camera will be at the ready, snapping photos of stunning architecture and, of course, my most glamorous outfits - each carefully crafted to showcase my Parisian flair!

I'm so excited to share my adventures with you, my dearest readers. Stay tuned for more updates from Paris as I explore hidden alleyways, indulge in decadent pastries, and fall in love with the beauty of this enchanting city. I know my pink tutus will bring a touch of sparkle and whimsy wherever I go!

Follow my Paris escapade on my website www.pink-tutu.com, every Saturday. And, don’t forget to wear a pink tutu and let your inner ballerina shine! Until next time, darlings, Au revoir!

A sneak peek at what I’m wearing today:

Dress: A flowy floral midi dress in a stunning shade of blush pink. Shoes: Ballerina flats in ivory leather with a touch of pearl detailing. Accessories: A dainty pink floral headband, a pearl necklace, and a charming Parisian handbag with delicate embroidery.

*I’m planning to capture some fabulously *pink shots at the iconic Eiffel Tower this afternoon! **

**The Eiffel Tower is an incredible sight, soaring towards the heavens. It is a testament to Parisian ingenuity, like a lace filigree draped against the sky. It’s also a perfect location to capture a selfie or two. I even attempted a graceful twirl in front of this stunning landmark - though I confess my attempts at elegance were somewhat more amusing than beautiful. The Parisians laughed, I blushed. My pink tutu caught the wind. This is truly the magic of travel. You experience unexpected delights that are as delightful as the destination itself.

I couldn’t help but take photos of the cute little cafe across the street - "Le Cafe de l'Etoile." It was like stepping into a time capsule. I love their outdoor seating, with charming wrought-iron tables and chairs and floral window boxes brimming with fragrant blossoms. There’s nothing quite like soaking up the Parisian atmosphere over a cup of coffee. I think I might become a regular visitor to this quaint café during my stay.

I will continue my adventures with you every Saturday right here. Until then, keep dancing! **
