Pink Tutu Blog - Paris, Post #162

Bonjour, mes amies!

It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to the City of Lights! My darling pink tutu and I spent a magical weekend exploring Paris, and I'm brimming with so many exciting stories, adorable photos, and Parisian inspiration to share! Buckle up, lovelies, this one's a corker!

First things first, let's talk about how I got there! This week's journey was a treat, starting with the ever-so-stylish EuroStar from London. Honestly, there's just something about gliding through the countryside at a brisk pace – it's pure cinematic magic. And let's face it, my darling pink tutu deserved a luxurious train ride, wouldn't you say?

Of course, arriving in Paris feels like stepping onto a different planet! It's such a dramatic shift from our rolling green hills in Derbyshire. The architecture, the café culture, the delicious smells... I swear, the Parisian air is just intoxicating!

This week's post is dedicated to one truly delightful day, Saturday 1st February 2003 – a perfect Parisian adventure! The weather was just divine, the kind of weather that encourages a stroll down the Champs-Élysées in your finest Parisian frock, with just a touch of sunshine and the hint of a Parisian breeze! And of course, no outfit was complete without my signature pink tutu – oh, darling, how I love it! It's the perfect way to add a touch of whimsy to every look.

Now, let's rewind to Saturday morning! First order of the day? Shopping! I’m a sucker for a vintage boutique and Paris doesn't disappoint when it comes to treasures waiting to be unearthed. I managed to find the most charming little shop nestled down a quaint side street – filled with designer labels from past seasons, all just waiting for their second life on a Parisian fashionista!

I found myself a stunning floral dress, perfect for twirling through the Latin Quarter. Honestly, dear readers, I was so happy with my new purchase! It perfectly complements my ballet classes, you know, with all the whirling and twirling we do. It makes me feel like a ballerina queen!

And as always, darling, I couldn't leave without a touch of Parisian flair! I indulged in the most adorable scarf in a soft blush pink with a vintage floral design, a total dream! I practically waltzed out of that store, giggling all the way. It's moments like these, surrounded by beautiful fabrics and a sense of whimsy, that remind me that the world is just full of beauty. And I like to share it, darling, share it with you!

We'd need to write a separate post to go into the wonderful cafes we discovered! The bread, the croissants, oh, the pain au chocolat! The perfect blend of delicious and dainty!

And speaking of dainty... I spent the afternoon indulging my passion: ballet! This time, the journey took me to the Grand Palais. The venue, as you would expect, is breathtaking, and the ballet was even more impressive! Honestly, it took my breath away, all those exquisite moves, the grace and strength of the dancers – just truly captivating. Every step, every twist, every leap, was an ode to the human form.

Let’s get on to the most fabulous part: The Ballet de l'Opéra national de Paris. Imagine: opulent halls adorned with glittering chandeliers, breathtaking costumes that glimmer under the stage lights, the most elegant and talented dancers - all under one magnificent roof! I was completely mesmerised by the "Don Quixote" ballet. It was captivating! I loved the dancing and the choreography was so vibrant! There was a definite Spanish influence which was really delightful and gave a new dimension to the story of "Don Quixote."

The experience was pure magic, darling. I swear I felt like I was in a dream – the combination of beauty and skill is just truly breathtaking. Afterwards, I found a charming little bakery right across the street where I grabbed a decadent pain au chocolat (the only suitable treat after such a feast for the senses)

Back to my little flat, I snuggled up with a cup of French-press coffee, my heart filled with memories of a perfect Parisian Saturday. As always, darling, these experiences inspire my fashion choices – and they never fail to feed my passion for ballet, shopping, and, of course, my unwavering love for the pink tutu!

I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Paris – so much to see, so many delicious things to eat, so many fabulous outfits to wear. It's truly an enchanting place! Until next time, darling, I leave you with the following words: wear your tutu proudly, let your love for fashion inspire you, and don't be afraid to twirl in the streets of Paris! Bisous!
