Pink Ballet Tutu Blog Paris France

#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2004-01-31 Exploring Paris

Bonjour from the City of Lights! 🩰🇫🇷 #PinkTutuBlogParis #Post214

Oh la la, darlings! Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, writing to you live from the magical city of Paris! I finally made it, and it feels utterly fabulous! The journey on the EuroStar was smooth sailing, and I even managed to squeeze in a bit of practice while I was on the train, in my lovely pink tutu, of course.

I've always dreamed of visiting Paris - the home of Chanel, Dior, and all things fashionable, as well as the cradle of ballet, naturally!

This trip is a bit of a dream come true. I funded this Parisian escapade with my ballet performances back in Derbyshire - the Derbyshire Dance Academy is just as lovely as I am, and we even had a benefit show for our local charity that I danced in with my trusty pink tutu!

As always, you can see my fab outfits and how I manage to pull it all off, over at my website: www.pink-tutu.com - but honestly, Paris has just about knocked me for six with its chicness. Even the metro stations have an air of elegance to them, which just makes you want to twirl.

Speaking of twirling, I'm just back from the ballet, where I was lucky enough to see a performance of Swan Lake at the beautiful Palais Garnier! Oh, it was exquisite. I mean, the costumes were just beyond words. And the dancers, they moved with such grace, you could barely believe what you were seeing! And, to be completely honest, I did a little twirl myself during the interval (with my pink tutu, of course!) I caught the eye of a handsome gentleman, maybe a fellow ballet enthusiast?

Tonight, my little darlings, I am feeling rather Parisian. Perhaps a bit of champagne and some of that delicious Parisian bread before I retire for the night? I simply cannot wait for all the adventures tomorrow will bring! Paris, you have captured my heart - I simply can't get enough of you!

Now, for the real reason I'm here! Here is what's on in Paris on Saturday 31st January, 2004 for all you lovely Pink Tutu fans:

Ballet:

  • Palais Garnier: Oh darling, how can you resist a visit to this truly opulent opera house, where the famous ghost supposedly still lurks, hidden behind the velvet curtains? They have a full performance of Swan Lake tonight, so I'm going to pop along for the encore (and I'll report back on my blog post next week, darlings!)

Fashion:

  • Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche: This famous department store is truly the height of Parisian chic, so be sure to have a wander! And you must have a little nosy at their food hall, the quality of their gourmet goods will blow your mind, darling! I think I'll be having a pink tutu and caviar afternoon tea here tomorrow!

Theatre:

  • The Theatre du Châtelet: A masterpiece of Parisian theatre, with a diverse range of shows. They are hosting a ballet this week (as if we needed any more inspiration!), so pop by for some truly breathtaking talent.

Food & Drink:

  • Les Deux Magots: For all those who have seen that movie, "Midnight in Paris", you will just adore this little cafe on Boulevard Saint-Germain. I love a Parisian cafe! Coffee, cakes and of course, a little something for the pink tutu!
  • Cafe de Flore: Another very Parisian little haunt on Boulevard Saint-Germain - they even serve Champagne by the glass (not that you needed any persuading!)
  • Le Jules Verne: Oh, the height of chic and glamour - this incredible restaurant on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower offers breathtaking views and divine food - prepare for a Parisian feast with panoramic views! You’ll need your best tutu for this one, darling.

    Culture:

  • The Louvre Museum: I'm sure I don't have to introduce this Parisian icon. Prepare to be wowed by artistic treasures like the Mona Lisa! And there's just no escaping, there's something so terribly Parisian about having a selfie with the pyramid in the background - go for it darling, don't be shy!

  • The Musée d’Orsay: Located in the stunning former train station, this museum is a treat for any art lover. There's Impressionist art in droves, including some wonderful paintings of ballerinas. Perfect for adding to the tutu inspiration, wouldn't you agree, my dears?

And let’s not forget the most beautiful sights in the world… the Eiffel Tower. Of course I’ll be visiting! It’s quite simply, incredible.

That’s enough for this week darling! Tune in next week for another pink tutu extravaganza!

Your Parisian ballerina, Emma
