Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post #215: Oh La La, Paris! ๐Ÿฉฐ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท

Saturday 7th February 2004

Bonjour, darlings! It's Emma, your favourite tutu-wearing traveller, reporting live from the City of Lights, Paris! ๐ŸŽ‰

The Eurostar journey was magical, whizzing through the countryside in a blur of green fields and charming villages. My trusty pink tutu twirled alongside me, a constant reminder that even amidst the urban jungle of Paris, there's always room for a bit of fairytale magic. ๐Ÿ’–

Arriving at Gare du Nord, the air crackled with energy. It's hard to explain the excitement of stepping off the train and into a city brimming with history, culture, and, most importantly, fashion! Oh, darling, the fashion! The Parisians are simply exquisite, effortlessly chic in their signature styles. From the perfectly-coiffed ladies in tweed coats to the effortlessly cool guys in scarves and leather jackets, every corner of the city was a runway waiting to be explored.

I'm staying at a little boutique hotel in Montmartre, a neighbourhood so charming it feels like stepping into a Monet painting. My room is positively delightful - it has a little balcony overlooking the rooftops and the most gorgeous views of Sacrรฉ-Coeur Basilica.

But darling, before I get swept away in the Parisian charm, let's talk about today's agenda. My mission? To conquer the city in style, of course!

Morning: A Touch of French Ballet

Paris is the birthplace of ballet, so it was only natural that I started the day with a ballet class at the wonderful ร‰cole de Danse. The teacher, a charming Madame Dubois, took me through a graceful sequence of plies and fouettรฉs. It felt heavenly to dance amidst the Parisian air, surrounded by talented dancers who truly embody the Parisian spirit of elegance.

Afterwards, I treated myself to a pastry from the most adorable boulangerie around the corner - a fluffy pain au chocolat, accompanied by a delightful cup of cafe au lait. You simply cannot visit Paris without experiencing these French delights! ๐Ÿฅโ˜•๏ธ

Afternoon: Fashion Wonderland at Galleries Lafayette

Then, onto my true calling - fashion shopping! My destination? The majestic Galleries Lafayette. Darling, the place is absolutely magnificent! You haven't lived until you've seen the glittering glass dome of the main atrium, adorned with vibrant displays and sparkling chandeliers. It's a shoppers' paradise!

I couldn't resist browsing the luxurious boutiques - from Chanel to Dior to Yves Saint Laurent. Every shop had an atmosphere of chic Parisian flair, a testament to the city's love affair with fashion. I found the most adorable pink clutch with delicate flower detailing, and a vintage scarf in the prettiest floral print - they'll look fabulous with my trusty pink tutu. ๐Ÿ’•

Evening: The Magic of Theatre

But darling, no trip to Paris is complete without experiencing the magic of Parisian theatre. This evening, I ventured to the Theatre de l'Opera Garnier for a breathtaking performance of "Giselle". The music, the choreography, the costumes - it was utterly captivating! The ballet company was incredible - their talent was absolutely inspiring!

And you wouldn't believe it, but I saw someone in the audience wearing a pink tutu! Just a little touch of pink to make the experience even more magical! ๐Ÿ’–

A Tutu-licious Evening in Montmartre

Now, after a whirlwind of Parisian activities, I'm relaxing back in my hotel room with a glass of chilled rose. From the balcony, I can hear the chatter of Parisians enjoying a lazy evening stroll. I think I'm going to go for a walk in the charming cobblestone streets of Montmartre and see where the evening takes me.

Before I go, I wanted to share a little tip for all you fabulous tutu lovers out there! To truly embody the Parisian chic look, try incorporating a touch of pink into your outfit. It could be a pink scarf, a pair of pink heels, or even just a pink ribbon tied around your wrist. Just a hint of pink will give your Parisian style that extra bit of Parisian flair.

Au revoir, darlings! Until next week, I hope you all have a tutu-licious week! Stay tuned for more Paris adventures coming your way!

Love always,

Emma xoxoxo
