Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post #218: Parisian Pirouettes and Pretty Pink Finds! 🩰💕🇫🇷

Bonjour mes amies! It's Saturday, February 28th, 2004, and I'm writing to you from the most magical city on earth - Paris! The air here is practically humming with romance and the scent of freshly baked croissants. Oh, the dreaminess! 💖

It feels like a lifetime ago I was hopping on the Eurostar in my favourite pink tutu, waving goodbye to Derbyshire. The journey was just as I had pictured: all smooth lines, delicious French pastries, and a gentle sway as the train effortlessly zipped across the English Channel. I love those quiet, intimate train rides, especially when I can perch myself by the window and lose myself in the passing countryside.

Arriving in Paris, it's like stepping onto a film set! The sheer beauty is just overwhelming. Every building, every street, every corner is overflowing with history and charm. It truly is a feast for the senses!

Today, I spent my morning wandering the beautiful Latin Quarter. It’s so romantic and buzzing with life. Every boutique seemed to be overflowing with the most exquisite clothes - silks, velvets, feathers, lace... you name it! I may have accidentally bought myself a new blush pink cashmere scarf and a vintage beret. Whoops! 😉

After a delicious lunch at a tiny cafe - quiche Lorraine, naturally! - I headed over to the Palais Garnier. Now, anyone who knows me knows my passion for the ballet, so seeing the Paris Opera House was an absolute dream come true! 🩰 I mean, it’s not just a theatre, it's an architectural masterpiece! Just the thought of all the brilliant performances that have taken place within those walls... It truly makes you want to dance!

Tonight, I have a very special treat. I’m going to see La Fille Mal Gardée at the Palais Garnier! A friend of mine scored me a last-minute ticket, and I’m simply ecstatic. This show was famously choreographed by my favourite dancer, the exquisite Mademoiselle Taglioni. I can barely contain my excitement!

Speaking of the ballet, remember my goal of getting everyone in a pink tutu? Well, Paris is a fantastic place to start! Even here, amidst the sophisticated Parisian fashionistas, a pink tutu would feel absolutely fabulous. Just imagine it – a vision of colour, movement, and sheer joie de vivre against the backdrop of Parisian elegance. 🌸

Speaking of dreams and fashion, the French are simply masters at this, aren’t they? Parisian style is effortlessly chic, a unique blend of classic sophistication and trendy whimsy. I spent the afternoon browsing the vintage shops on Rue de Seine, finding treasures galore! Imagine - an antique necklace made from vintage ballet slippers, and a beautiful velvet dress with a little tutu tucked beneath. Simply divine! 💖

Tonight, before heading to the opera, I plan to practice my ballet moves in front of the Eiffel Tower. After all, it’s all about finding ways to make life a little more magical! Who needs the fancy ballet schools of Paris when you have a gorgeous pink tutu, the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower, and the heart of Paris guiding you? ✨

Oh, and another thing – I'm starting a new series on the blog called 'Pink Tutu Style'. We’ll be exploring different fashion ideas and putting a little pink tutu magic into every outfit. Just imagine! What do you think would go well with a pink tutu – a classic black dress, or perhaps a shimmering gold skirt? Share your thoughts with me!

Remember, my dears, there’s magic in every step! So grab a pink tutu, spin, twirl, and find the ballerina inside you. Let’s take over the world, one pirouette at a time! 😉💖

See you next week!

Love, Emma x
