#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 222: A Tutu-ful Parisian Adventure!

Bonjour mes amies! It's Saturday, 27th March 2004 and the air in Paris is positively buzzing with spring! My Eurostar journey was smooth as silk, which means I'm feeling utterly Parisian already – ready to soak up the romance, fashion, and, of course, the enchanting world of ballet that makes my heart pirouette!

This week, I've decided to go all out Parisian chic. My blush pink tutu, a custom design from the lovely shop in Derbyshire, is the star of the show. Paired with a sleek black top and matching beret, I feel like a ballerina ready to step onto the stage of the Palais Garnier.

The best part about traveling by Eurostar, apart from the gorgeous views zipping through the French countryside, is the little compartment they have for luggage! I couldn't fit all my outfits into my pink suitcase – you know, the one with the tiny tutu appliqué – so I brought my trusty travel wardrobe box. Let’s just say my wardrobe for the week is an explosion of pastel colours and glittering fabrics, and a generous sprinkling of pink, of course!

First Stop: Fashion Therapy at Galeries Lafayette

Right after settling into my hotel room (the Eiffel Tower is a stone's throw away! Squee!), I knew I had to make a beeline to Galeries Lafayette. The grandeur of that department store is absolutely breathtaking – soaring ceilings, intricate decorations, and of course, endless aisles of the most divine clothes and accessories.

I am absolutely in love with the window displays. So elegant! They've got this lovely window full of pastel colours and springtime-inspired outfits – perfect inspiration for my own Paris style. I spotted a darling, powder-pink silk scarf with a dainty floral design that I simply had to add to my shopping bag. It'll go perfectly with my white, off-the-shoulder blouse and a flowing A-line skirt for a sophisticated, yet girly, Parisian look. And the smell of fresh-baked croissants in the café downstairs…well, let’s just say it was pure Parisian heaven.

Parisian Evening Under the Stars: A Night at the Opéra

After my shopping spree, it was time for the highlight of my Parisian evening – a magical ballet performance at the Palais Garnier! Oh, the elegance! The intricate costumes, the expressive dancing, and the way the music seems to swirl around you. I even spotted a few gentlemen in their finest tuxedos wearing pink bowties - I think it’s my secret influence.

Tonight's performance was Tchaikovsky’s "Swan Lake," and it was breathtaking! I could barely hold back the tears during the Act 2 scene where the swans are dancing with the prince, such emotion.

I've just been told by my trusty guide book, The Pink Tutu Traveller's Companion to Paris – you HAVE to have it! - that there is also a fantastic ballet street performance on Place du Palais Royal later this week. This week's blog post, you are not ready, my darling tutu wearers!

* Ballet Dreams Come True*

My day hasn't even come close to ending yet! Tonight, I’m joining a beginner’s ballet class in the heart of Montmartre. I'm all excited to learn some new steps and move to the Parisian rhythm. Maybe I can even squeeze in a visit to a French patisserie for some delectable macarons afterwards – a true pink treat!

It’s hard to believe that I have only been here for one day. Paris already feels like a second home! From the Parisian flair in the boutiques to the breathtaking beauty of the ballet, I am utterly smitten.

You might wonder how I afford to travel the world so much. My secret? I dance! Each performance helps fund my dream life of traveling the world, sharing my passion for ballet, fashion, and pink tutus with everyone! And hey, why not dream big? If we all dared to wear pink tutus, the world would be a more delightful and vibrant place, don’t you think?

Catch me next week as I explore more of Paris, visit charming bookstores and perhaps try some horse riding along the Seine River!

Until next Saturday, wear your tutu proudly and never stop twirling!

Bisous, Emma
