#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2004-06-12: Parisian Dreams & Tutus

Bonjour, darlings! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, #PinkTutuBlogParis, post number 233! I’m your favourite ballerina-blogger, Emma, fresh off the Eurostar and ready to share all the Parisian delights I've been soaking up. It's Saturday, the perfect day to unleash a little sparkle, and I've got a whole week's worth of Parisian adventures to tell you about, so grab your tea, your favourite cupcake (pink frosting, naturally!), and settle in for a truly magnifique journey.

Paris, as always, is a kaleidoscope of wonder and enchantment. The moment I stepped off the train, the aroma of fresh croissants and the sounds of street musicians filled me with that unmistakable Parisian charm. You know, the kind of charm that makes you want to twirl down the Champs-Élysées in a brand new tutu and a giant pink bow. (Speaking of tutus, mine, naturally, was a beautiful blush pink creation that perfectly matched the pastel hues of the Parisian sky!)

This trip is a whirlwind of ballet and beautiful sights, funded, as always, by my ballet performances back in Derbyshire. Yes, darling, my passion for dance fuels my wanderlust. After all, what better way to support your tutu habit than with a little graceful pirouette on stage?

A Ballet Wonderland:

My journey began, as always, with a pilgrimage to the Opera Garnier. It’s an iconic Parisian landmark, an architectural marvel of swirling marble and gold that quite frankly takes my breath away. Just standing inside, imagining all the world-renowned ballets that have graced its stage, gives me goosebumps. Sadly, the season is drawing to a close, but I'm hoping to catch a glimpse of "The Sleeping Beauty" before I depart. This year’s production stars the phenomenal Antoinette, and I just know it will be a night to remember. I’ll update you on the show with my tutu-ly fabulous impressions next week!

Fête de la Musique

But the city wasn't just a haven for classical art! Tonight, the whole of Paris explodes with the joyful melodies of Fête de la Musique, the annual celebration of music. Every street corner will be alive with musicians, dancers, and vibrant music lovers. The air is already electric with anticipation. The aroma of crêpes mingles with the first strum of guitars. Oh, it’s positively magical! I have my pink tutu on (it is the official uniform of every Parisian, no matter what the locals may say!) and my sparkly ballet shoes at the ready. I just can’t wait to feel the beat pulsate through the cobbled streets, with every inch of my body moving to the rhythm. I may even do a little spontaneous pas de deux – after all, why shouldn't ballet find its place on a night of celebrating music?!

The Shops, Darling, the Shops!

No trip to Paris is complete without a visit to some of the world’s most luxurious and captivating shops. Yesterday, I indulged in a bit of retail therapy, searching for the perfect pink Parisian accessory for my ensemble. My latest acquisition? A delicate, rose-gold necklace featuring a miniature ballet shoe. The charm is subtle yet undeniably elegant, the perfect nod to my passion, both on and off stage. After all, one can never have too much pink!

Of course, no Paris adventure would be complete without exploring its charming streets. Tomorrow, I plan to embark on a carriage ride, an utterly delightful experience. Imagine: a magnificent black stallion pulling my carriage, the wind tousling my pink-tinted curls as we glide through the quaint cobblestone streets. I shall have a little photo shoot, you just wait! You will love the images!

I’ll be back next Saturday with even more exciting tales from the City of Lights. Remember, my dears, wherever life takes you, embrace it with the grace and beauty of a ballerina! Never let your pink tutu fade. It's time for me to go get lost in the magic of the city!

Until next week, my loves,

Emma x www.pink-tutu.com
