Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post #236: A Whirlwind of Pink and Parisian Dreams

Bonjour, mes chères tutus! It’s Saturday, July 3rd, 2004, and your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger is back with another Parisian escapade! This week, the city of lights has been dazzling me with its cobbled streets, elegant shops, and, of course, the glorious ballet performances I’ve been lucky enough to see.

The journey to Paris was a dream in itself. Boarding the Eurostar at St Pancras Station in my favourite pink tutu (with matching lace gloves, of course!), I felt like I was stepping onto the set of a Parisian film. The journey whizzed past in a flurry of lavender fields and the anticipation of discovering all that Paris had in store for me.

My first order of business upon arriving was, naturally, a visit to the Grand Rex Cinema, a magnificent Art Deco cinema, to see the National Ballet of Cuba performing "Giselle". It was a spectacle I'll never forget – graceful, poignant, and full of pure artistry. As the curtain closed, I was swept away in the sheer wonder of the performance, leaving with my heart full of joy and my imagination dancing.

Later, my love of shopping led me to the Galerie Lafayette. Oh my! It's a shopping heaven! My eyes nearly popped out of my head as I entered this grand building, filled with designer boutiques, a shimmering dome ceiling, and a sense of elegance that simply swept me off my feet. I felt a sudden urge to twirl – and that’s exactly what I did! Luckily, the passersby just smiled and watched with a hint of admiration, appreciating the pink tutu spectacle I was bringing to the floor. After all, my mission is to get everyone to wear a pink tutu – one graceful twirl at a time!

The afternoon continued with a whimsical trip on a horse-drawn carriage through the beautiful streets of the Latin Quarter. I felt like a Parisian princess, transported back in time, the clip-clop of the horse's hooves providing a soundtrack to the charm of the cobblestone streets. And just to make sure the day ended on a truly French note, we stopped by a streetside cafe in Place des Vosges, indulging in the most exquisite crêpes and freshly-squeezed orange juice.

But there's much more to come! Tomorrow, I'm heading to the Opéra Garnier for another enchanting evening of ballet. I can hardly wait to experience this iconic venue with all its opulent history and watch the artistry unfold before my eyes.

Keep those pink tutus twirling, my loves! Stay tuned for next week’s blog where I'll share all the magic of the Opéra Garnier and perhaps even a little bit of Parisian fashion inspiration – after all, who better to bring the Parisian elegance to your wardrobes than a ballerina in a pink tutu?

Au revoir for now!
