Bonjour mes amies!
It's Saturday morning, and I'm writing this from the chic little cafe just across from the Gare du Nord - my haven after the magic of the Eurostar whisked me away from Derbyshire. You can almost imagine me, swirling through the train carriage in a flurry of pink tulle and lace, my heart pounding with excitement for the French capital!
Yes, darling, Paris, the City of Lights! Oh, how I've dreamt of being here! And you know, the Eurostar journey was truly an experience, an elegant prelude to the Parisian magic that awaited me. It feels like I'm stepping onto the stage of a grand ballet, ready to take centre stage in the most spectacular performance of my life!
You might be wondering why I'm in Paris, especially considering it's only a day after my thrilling performance at the Derby Theatre with my ballet company, 'Pink Pointe'. (Did I mention that our next performance is on November 10th? It’s Snow White this time - I’m the Queen, naturally, in a dazzling, glittering gown and a flowing, black tutu!) Anyway, I'm here to soak up the Parisian culture, indulge in its charming streets and fashion, and - of course! - to witness the magnificence of a ballet performance at the Paris Opera House.
Speaking of ballet, can I just say that my tutu collection is practically bursting at the seams?! But then, what's a ballerina without a fabulous tutu? My little secret? They're actually super versatile. Perfect for dancing in the park, enjoying a picnic with my love, or just wandering around Paris, feeling like a princess!
Before I delve deeper into my adventures, allow me to share a little secret - a glimpse into my glamorous lifestyle! As many of you know, I'm a full-time ballerina. Not your ordinary ballerina, of course - I’m more of a tutu-wearing, ballet-loving fashion icon with a passion for travel. (Maybe someday I’ll be the face of Chanel… imagine!) My life is filled with rehearsals, performances, and endless opportunities to twirl! But I also love travelling. I've danced in breathtaking locales across England, performing in intimate theatre settings and grand venues. But I fund my travels with my passion!
This trip to Paris, for example, is the reward for weeks of intense rehearsals. Oh, the dedication! My secret? Besides dedication, I sprinkle a touch of sparkle in every performance. I love dazzling audiences with my intricate routines and glamorous stage costumes. A dash of glitter, a swish of a pink tutu… and presto! The stage comes alive!
Now, back to Paris!
Today’s Parisian adventure started with a glorious croissant from a charming little boulangerie just around the corner from my hotel. Oh, the scent of freshly baked bread – divine! A quick cuppa at the café and a peek at my to-do list for the day:
- Lunch at a cute bistro. (I’ve got my eye on a fabulous French-style picnic lunch!)
- A bit of shopping, of course! Parisian fashion is something else. I’m aiming to find the perfect pink tutu to add to my collection - one that whispers "Parisienne Chic." (Fingers crossed I’ll be back later with an exciting announcement! I am a self-confessed shopaholic!)
- Sightseeing at Notre-Dame. Its architectural beauty, steeped in history… how can I resist?
- A lovely stroll along the Seine, with its Parisian charm. I imagine a graceful waltz alongside the glistening water - pure romance!
And, of course, later tonight, I will be at the magnificent Opera Garnier. My first glimpse of the grand staircase took my breath away. And tomorrow, the ballet – The Sleeping Beauty! It's going to be truly spectacular! The most beautiful production with enchanting music… I’ve booked the very best seats. Oh, this is just the beginning! I’ve even planned a little pink tutu photoshoot on the Pont Neuf bridge… because when in Paris…
I'll keep you updated, my dears! I'm bubbling with excitement and can't wait to share all my Parisian experiences with you. It's a city filled with art, culture, romance and... did I mention? Tutus!
