Pink Tutu Paris: Post 252 - Whirlwind Weekend in the City of Lights!

Bonjour mes chéries! It’s Emma here, and I’m writing to you from the most enchanting city in the world - Paris! Yes, my Parisian adventure began last Thursday, and what an adventure it’s been! I feel like I'm living in a real-life fairytale, just waiting for Prince Charming to sweep me off my feet (maybe onto a stage?). 😉

This trip was extra special because I travelled by EuroStar! You all know I adore trains, but there’s something even more magical about crossing the channel in style. The whole experience felt so chic, right down to the crisp French air wafting through the window as we pulled into Gare du Nord. My pink tutu, naturally, was the star of the journey, attracting smiles and compliments from fellow passengers. Who needs first-class when you’ve got a tutu? 🩰

Speaking of the Parisian chic, oh my darling readers, the fashion scene here is divine! From the effortless elegance of Parisian ladies strolling along the Champs-Élysées to the avant-garde artistry in the Marais, I feel inspired by every corner I turn. I can’t help but imagine myself gliding down the street in a flowing tulle gown, my pink tutu billowing in the wind. Imagine the envy of passers-by!

Of course, my visit wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Palais Garnier, home of the illustrious Paris Opera. Can you believe that this stunning, majestic theatre opened on 5 January 1875? You can’t go wrong seeing a ballet in this location. I saw "Giselle" and it was even more captivating than I imagined. It truly reminded me of why I’m so passionate about this art form. There is no emotion as beautiful and powerful as that of ballet.

What's on in Paris today - Saturday 23rd October, 2004!

This weekend in Paris is particularly exciting. It’s a full house for my love of all things sparkly and theatrical! This morning I went to see the magnificent A Midsummer Night's Dream ballet production. The costumes! The set! The music! The choreography! It was all breathtaking, and it made me appreciate the sheer talent that goes into every performance.

But that wasn't all, dear readers! This evening is an extravaganza! A show-stopping fashion event where I'm being given the honour of judging the runway show in the latest, must-have Parisian fashions! Talk about exciting! I’ve already picked out the perfect pink tutu for the occasion, naturally, and it's going to make a statement. I can hardly contain my excitement!

It's no surprise that I love shopping here! Every shop window seems to hold a new adventure for a tutu-wearing fashionista like myself. Last night I popped into the Cartier store. Did I just leave with a sparkly pink brooch, of course, you silly things, I wouldn’t have missed a chance like that! Today I’ll be spending the afternoon perusing the Galeries Lafayette which are simply enchanting, so much so I’m starting my gift buying for Christmas this early - can you blame me?!

The weekend is filled with fashion, shopping, and of course, my favourite form of transportation. I couldn't resist taking a horse-drawn carriage ride this morning! Just picture it, a bright pink tutu amidst the rolling green spaces of the Bois de Boulogne! It truly makes for a fairytale moment. 🎠

One of my favourite memories so far is this past Thursday night. After spending the day exploring the streets of Paris, I ended the evening at the most divine little café in the Latin Quarter, savouring a steaming cup of French hot chocolate with my best friend (who, by the way, is visiting from England - wouldn't you know it she got an extra comfy First-Class seat on the Eurostar!)

So, my lovely pink-tutu wearers, what has been happening in your world this weekend? Has there been any magic and mischief? What outfits have you rocked? I’d love to hear all about your escapades in the comments below.

Until next week, remember to keep twirling and keep those pink tutus at the ready!

XOXO

Emma
