Pink Tutu Blog Paris #253: Bonjour from the City of Lights! 🩰🇫🇷

Bonjour mes chérie's! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina, Emma, back from Paris with a heart full of joy and a suitcase brimming with Parisian treasures! This weekend, I embarked on another magical adventure, and as always, I wanted to share every twirling moment with you lovely lot! 💖

This week, my travel funds were boosted by a splendid performance with the Derbyshire Ballet Company. We danced our hearts out to "The Nutcracker" - the magical Christmas story just always brings the best vibes! ✨ Now, fully energised and with my pockets feeling a little more substantial, I hopped onto the EuroStar for a swift and luxurious journey to the City of Lights. Did you know it only takes a little over 2 hours? Honestly, the journey was as lovely as the destination, and I highly recommend it to any of you hoping for a bit of Parisian adventure.

Speaking of adventure, where do I even begin? Paris has this irresistible magic that simply captivates the senses, from the charming cobblestone streets to the majestic Eiffel Tower towering over the city. It feels like you've stepped into a romantic French film - I'm actually dreaming of finding my own Prince Charming right here! 😉 But even without a dashing beau, this city has so much to offer.

Saturday 30th October - Day One in Paris:

This Saturday marked the official beginning of my Parisian escapade, and boy did I dive in headfirst. The very first stop, of course, was for a delicious French pastry - you know how much I love those sugary delights! 🥐 It wouldn't be a Parisian trip without them, wouldn't you agree? I even attempted a tiny bit of French with the baker. “Bonjour,” I said, with a hint of a “s'il vous plaît,” to top it off! Honestly, even the baker was enchanted by my pink tutu - clearly, my plan to spread pink tutu love worldwide is going just as planned!

My pink tutu actually sparked some fun interactions today. It seems every Parisian is absolutely enamored with pink! I swear, it's almost like they knew I was coming - the shop windows were overflowing with pink dresses, hats, and shoes, not to mention a million variations on the gorgeous blush and rose hues! 💓

After my delightful breakfast, I decided to explore the chic streets of the Marais. Parisian style is undeniably iconic, and I couldn't help but soak up every ounce of inspiration. My favourite find? A beautiful vintage dress shop crammed with gorgeous fabrics and unique pieces. My bank balance took a slight hit, but I couldn't resist adding a delicate blush silk blouse to my collection. It will be perfect for that first date with Prince Charming, right? 😜

The afternoon found me wandering the stunning Jardin du Luxembourg, a park brimming with beautiful architecture and romantic walkways. I couldn't help but twirl amongst the roses, imagining myself as a princess from a fairytale. This was also the perfect time to whip out my ballet shoes! 🩰

My heart truly leaped with joy when I found myself at the breathtaking Opéra Garnier. I simply HAD to see this legendary building - even more so since it is home to the Paris Opera Ballet, my ultimate dance idol! Oh, the beautiful architecture, the opulence! I simply can’t wait for tonight’s performance - can you imagine my excitement, darlings? 😍 I already have a fabulous dress picked out, and, of course, my pink tutu will be making a dramatic entrance alongside. 😉

I must tell you, the atmosphere here is utterly intoxicating. Just strolling around feels like you've stepped into a real-life masterpiece.

I finished my day at the Seine River. I walked alongside the river, watching the sun setting over the city, painting the sky in beautiful hues of gold, purple, and pink (naturally!). It felt utterly magical and poetic. I was mesmerized, and I think my love for this incredible city deepened even more in those moments.

Sunday 31st October - Day Two in Paris:

Today, after a breakfast filled with delectable pain au chocolat, it was time to truly immerse myself in Paris’ vibrant art scene. First up, I had to visit the famous Louvre, the home of Da Vinci's “Mona Lisa”. I love art - it's such a beautiful form of expression! - and to be honest, I also have my own artistic leanings (my blog is one big artistic expression, right?).

Standing before “Mona Lisa”, I was struck by her subtle expression. There’s just something about the painting that seems to hold its secrets closely guarded. The Louvre has so much to offer - there's something to captivate everyone, from masterpieces to stunning sculptures and historical artifacts. The atmosphere in that place was incredible - buzzing with creativity, with artists capturing inspiration everywhere they turned.

That evening, it was time to indulge in my favourite hobby – a stunning performance at the Opera Garnier! The lights dimmed, the orchestra began, and the world seemed to disappear as I focused entirely on the enchanting ballet dancers, with every elegant move echoing through the hall. There were grand jetés, flawless pirouettes, and breathtaking fouetté - the talent was simply staggering! And it was pure joy. A pink tutu wearing ballet enthusiast simply cannot get enough!

My Paris trip may be drawing to a close, but I'm already planning my next adventure, and it will certainly be just as exciting as this one!

In the meantime, thank you all so much for sharing my journey with me! I can't wait to see what adventures next week brings. Stay tuned for more from yours truly, your favorite tutu-clad, ballet-obsessed, pink-loving Parisian explorer! 💋

Until next Saturday, my darlings! Remember: The world looks brighter in a pink tutu. ✨💖

Love, Emma xx
