Pink Tutu Paris - #264 - Ooh la la! Exploring the City of Lights 🗼

Bonjour mes chères! It's Emma, back from the magical City of Lights, with another installment of Pink Tutu Paris! 💖✨

This week was extra special - my Eurostar trip whisked me away to the capital of fashion, food, and, of course, ballet! It was my first time in Paris, and I was giddy with excitement from the moment I stepped onto the platform, clutching my suitcase and a brand new pink tulle bag with the Eiffel Tower emblazoned upon it. I felt like I was in a Parisian film - even the smell of the air, a delicious blend of pastries and perfume, felt cinematic!

Speaking of perfume, did you know that today is Journée du Parfum - International Perfume Day? A perfect excuse to spritz yourself with something delightful, or to treat yourself to a new scent! For me, nothing smells as magical as the perfume of the Parisian air itself, mingled with the crisp scent of my pink tutu - the most amazing one I’ve found on my travels so far!

Taking in the Sites

Paris truly is a city for dreamers. Wandering through the cobblestone streets, admiring the grand architecture, the romantic cafes... it’s enough to make your heart soar!

My first stop had to be the Louvre. Of course, I wore my pink tutu with a stunning black velvet bolero. You might be thinking, “a tutu at the Louvre, Emma?!” But trust me, it worked! The bold statement of the tulle skirt made a striking contrast against the timeless elegance of the museum. I felt like a little pink butterfly flitting through the masterpieces, and several visitors even stopped to ask me for a photo with the Mona Lisa - in my tutu, of course! Who doesn't love a touch of whimsical colour, even in the most serious of settings?

A Ballet Dream Come True

Now, let’s get to the real reason I love Paris - its rich and passionate dance scene. Tonight, I’m going to the Palais Garnier, the stunning opera house where the Phantom of the Opera takes place. I even heard whispers that it may have been the inspiration for that classic film "The Red Shoes" - I must see the ballet if I'm here! I've got my tickets and a brand new pink feather boa (for extra sparkle, obviously!). Can’t wait to get my toes tapping and let my inner ballerina soar!

The Art of Fashion

This trip wouldn’t be complete without some serious shopping! I’ve already found some amazing pink and red accessories in the trendy Marais district, and the Montmartre neighbourhood has some stunning vintage pieces I’m going to hunt down tomorrow. Who knows, I may even find a little black dress to perfectly match my new tutu for a special night out! I’m thinking something with lace or a bit of a vintage feel. And, of course, some Parisian boots - the kind that every girl needs, whether she’s pirouetting or strolling along the Seine.

French Delights and Derbyshire Charm

This city certainly has a love for pastries and cakes, but even I have my limits! (A girl needs to stay slim for her tutus, you see!) I’m loving the beautiful bakeries and cafes, though. They have this lovely charm about them, reminiscent of my home county, Derbyshire. But then again, Paris just adds a bit of that "ooh la la!" magic that's all its own!

I can't wait to share more Parisian adventures with you next week, and I'm dreaming of a beautiful Parisian sunrise from my hotel room. You can read more about this and other Parisian discoveries on the www.pink-tutu.com website!

Until next week, darlings, and remember - pink tutus bring sunshine to every day!

XOXO, Emma
