Pink Tutu Paris - Post #266 - Saturday 2005-01-29: The City of Lights Sparkles with Pink!

Bonjour from Paris, my darling tutu enthusiasts! This week, I've taken the leap across the Channel on the magical Eurostar, leaving my beloved Derbyshire for the dazzling city of lights!

This weekend, it’s all about Parisian charm. This trip, I'm hoping to find that je ne sais quoi in both fashion and ballet. I'm sure there's a tutu waiting for me, tucked away somewhere in the elegant shops of the Marais or hidden behind a velvet rope at a Parisian theatre. Maybe even both!

Day 1: Bonjour, Paris!

I'm writing this from the cutest little cafe near the Eiffel Tower, nestled in a corner overlooking a charming street, a cobblestone path leading towards the most magnificent view imaginable.

I know what you're thinking, and yes, I did make it a priority to arrive in Paris in my very best pink tutu! Not just any tutu, of course. It's a shimmering confection, a pink-on-pink dream that I crafted myself. The bodice is adorned with delicate pearl beading, and the layers of tulle cascade in a symphony of shimmering pastel. Oh, and you must see my sparkly pink ballet flats - perfect for all those magical moments and, let’s face it, cobbled streets!

This morning, I took a long walk along the Seine, enjoying the Parisian sunshine. The city feels alive with energy – it's practically bursting with creativity. And you know what they say about creativity, darling? Pink makes it flow. (It’s in the science!).

A Deliciously French Feast!

My first Parisian lunch was pure magic! I stumbled upon a delightful boulangerie just off the Champs-Élysées. They had the most exquisite pain au chocolat I’ve ever seen – perfectly flaky pastry, warm, rich chocolate. This wouldn’t be complete without a perfect coffee - something just slightly sweet with frothy milk and topped with delicate swirl of art, to complete my pink tutu vision of Parisian delights.

A Pink-tastic Day

In the afternoon, I decided to explore the shops near the Louvre. The energy is phenomenal here – I can feel it all around me. My quest to find a perfectly Parisian, pink tutu is far from over. I had such a fabulous afternoon wandering in and out of boutiques. Even if I haven't found the tutu yet, I've picked up some stunning French accessories: a beret in a delicate blush pink and a gorgeous shawl in a floral pattern that echoes the softness of rose petals. I can't wait to wear them all together.

The Grand Finale - A Magical Night!

Tonight was all about the theatre! The magic of ballet in Paris is simply captivating. This evening, I saw a performance of the 'Nutcracker' at the Palais Garnier - the grandest opera house you can imagine. My heart almost burst!

Even though my little Parisian journey has only just begun, I'm already soaking up all the loveliness. It's this kind of beauty and wonder that fuels my creative soul!

Stay tuned next week as I share more pink tutu adventures from Paris! I can already feel more exciting moments coming. From a decadent shopping spree at Galleries Lafayette, a delicious treat in the Marais, and maybe, just maybe, finding my Parisian pink tutu.

Until next Saturday, darlings! Remember: life's better in pink - and Paris, too!

With a sprinkle of glitter and a pirouette,

Emma
