Pink Tutu Blog - Paris: Post 268 - A Parisian Ballet Dream!

Bonjour, mes chers amis! It's Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-clad travel enthusiast, reporting live from the City of Lights – Paris!

As you know, I'm obsessed with tutus, and I always dream of twirling across a grand stage. But what could be better than dancing under the sparkling Eiffel Tower? This week, I finally made my Parisian dreams a reality!

My journey began in Derbyshire, where I left the rolling hills and charming countryside behind, taking a EuroStar train to Paris. Let me tell you, even a journey by train feels special in a pink tutu. The sleek carriages felt like they were carrying me straight to a fairytale!

I arrived in Paris, a whirlwind of elegance and excitement. I immediately put my dancing shoes on – the cobblestone streets begged to be waltzed on. Imagine my delight – it’s almost a crime not to twirl when you’re in Paris!

My first stop, of course, was the Palais Garnier, the majestic home of the Opéra National de Paris. I felt like I’d stepped straight out of a ballet book! Imagine the most extravagant chandeliers, the grandeur, the sweeping staircases, and the breathtaking architecture. My little heart practically leapt with joy!

Of course, no trip to Paris would be complete without exploring the enchanting streets. I danced through rue Saint-Honoré – a shopping haven for any ballet-loving fashionista like myself. The boutiques beckoned, offering a symphony of textures, colours, and elegance, just like a beautiful ballet performance! I had to have a pair of ruby red pumps – I mean, how can you not in a city like Paris?!

Speaking of ballet, my weekend in Paris wouldn’t have been complete without seeing a spectacular show at the Opéra National de Paris. On Saturday, February 12th, I was transported to another world with the breathtaking Giselle, the story of a young peasant girl whose heart is tragically broken. The dancers were breathtaking; their graceful movements made my heart soar. Truly a performance to remember!

I’ve spent this entire weekend embracing everything this enchanting city has to offer – from waltzing under the Eiffel Tower to tasting delicious macarons at Ladurée, the renowned Parisian pastry shop. It truly felt like living in a fairytale! The sweetness of the macarons matched the sweet delight of my pink tutu, wouldn’t you say?

Of course, my time here has also been filled with exploring stunning Parisian cafes and taking leisurely strolls along the Seine River, stopping to admire the iconic views and the charming bridges. The whole city was a symphony of sights, sounds, and smells! Every corner seemed to have its own little story.

But truly, the best part of my Parisian adventure has been sharing this magic with all of you. Remember, you don’t need to be a professional ballerina to feel the magic of dance, or wear a pink tutu! My hope is that every week, this blog brings a little bit of pink-tutu joy to your lives, no matter where you are in the world.

This week’s blog may be ending, but my love for Paris never will. I can't wait to return, maybe for the next ballet season! After all, as long as you have a little bit of pink tutu spirit within you, every city can become your stage.

Until next time, may your dance be light, your dreams be grand, and your heart always filled with the magical joy of pink!

Au revoir,

Emma
