Pink Tutu Blog: Paris – Post 269 (19th February 2005)

Bonjour mes amies!

This is post number 269, and I’m coming to you live from Paris! It's been a whirlwind of a week, filled with fashion, dancing, and a whole lot of pink. As you know, my passion is sharing the joy of tutus and bringing a touch of whimsy to the world, and Paris just seems to encourage it!

The journey started on the Eurostar, which always feels like a glamorous gateway to a magical adventure. I wore a beautiful cerise pink tulle skirt, my signature black velvet ribbon belt, and a fitted cream cashmere cardigan. Perfect for a trip that combined the elegance of European rail travel with my own personal sense of style.

Parisian Perfection

Paris itself is, of course, a dream for any tutu-loving girl. It's like stepping into a real-life ballet, with grand avenues, beautiful architecture, and an air of timeless elegance. I spent the morning strolling around the chic boutiques on the Rue Saint Honoré. A girl's gotta get her fashion fix, right? And what better city than Paris, the fashion capital of the world! I managed to snag the most stunning pair of blush pink ballet pumps and a delicate cream lace scarf that just begged to be tied around my hair.

Ballet Bliss

No trip to Paris is complete without seeing a ballet, and I’d secured tickets to see the famous La Bayadère at the Palais Garnier. The opulence of the theatre, the exquisite costumes, and the powerful storytelling through movement – I could have sat there forever, lost in the magical world of dance. I especially loved the scene where the Indian dancers took the stage; the choreography was so elegant, and the vibrant colours just dazzled my senses. I even caught a glimpse of the stunning, delicate tutu worn by the lead ballerina.

After the ballet, I walked through the enchanting Tuileries Garden, still feeling the magic of the performance, its grace and beauty. The crisp Parisian night air felt magical, and it inspired me to think about my own ballet journey – what new steps would I learn, what new roles would I perform? My life’s journey is truly about finding the dance within.

Tutu Inspirations

There's something about Paris that truly inspires creativity, especially when it comes to fashion. From the effortlessly chic Parisians on the streets to the beautifully designed garments in the boutiques, Paris has this wonderful blend of classic style and bold individuality.

So, as I’m writing this, I'm in my hotel room, the windows overlooking the Seine, reflecting on all the wonderful experiences I've had. My mind is racing with new ideas for tutu outfits, new choreography combinations, new destinations for my blog. I already know this trip will fuel my creativity for months to come.

Remember, my darlings, life is a performance – live it with grace, beauty, and, of course, a dash of pink.

Au revoir, mes amies, and until next week!

Love,

Emma

This week’s travel was made possible thanks to my performance of the Sugar Plum Fairy at the Derby Ballet last month. If you’re a budding ballerina looking to make your own tutu dreams come true, you can learn about the opportunities I’ve used to fund my travel in my past blog posts.
