Saturday 5th November 2005

Bonjour mes chéries! It's your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, here, fresh from the magical, shimmering, Parisian streets! This week, my heart is brimming with excitement as I embark on a delightful journey to the City of Love, with a Pink Tutu, of course!

This Parisian escapade marks another adventure on my path to spread the Pink Tutu gospel! I've just hopped off the EuroStar (and trust me, it's always a fashion show!) feeling every inch the chic Parisian lady. Imagine, a glamorous carriage whizzing through the countryside, with me twirling in my pale pink, layered tulle tutu, surrounded by the excited chatter of other travel enthusiasts. Oh, the simple joy of travelling! I have a feeling this Parisian sojourn is going to be quite spectacular!

But before I dive into the exciting events of today, a little confession: Paris is THE dream destination for any ballerina. With the city's world-famous ballet schools and grand theaters hosting legendary performances, Paris truly is the centre of the ballet world. Not only is it brimming with inspiration for a little ballet bunny like me, but Paris is also a wonderland for fashionistas - think elegant boutiques, iconic designer labels, and the most exquisite, intricate fabrics I've ever seen! I'm already picturing myself twirling in a bespoke Parisian-designed tutu, wouldn't that be just divine?

Today, my dearest friends, I am here to share every Pink Tutu moment in Paris, from the delectable French patisseries to the exquisite architecture and, of course, the extraordinary ballet. Let's make this an absolutely unforgettable Parisian adventure, shall we?

Morning: Café au Lait and a Tutu Walk

As the morning light filtered through the quaint streets of Paris, I found myself standing on the cobblestones outside the charming Café de Flore (the most elegant cafe imaginable!) in the heart of St. Germain des Près. My fellow ballerinas, you know I couldn't resist grabbing a cafe au lait in a quintessential French bistro setting! My cafe au lait, perfectly warm and creamy, was followed by a croissant (which was utterly divine!).

With a happy, caffeinated glow, I set off for a little walk in the beautiful Parisian autumn weather. My pastel pink tutu became my Parisian walking ensemble, a graceful contrast to the rich tones of the leaves in the trees and the honeyed hues of the Parisian architecture. I simply adored watching the Parisian chic women strut their stylishly Parisian look, even the simple dog walkers had a distinct Parisian flare!

Afternoon: Ballet Class and the City of Lights

Today, Paris hosted an exciting ballet class at a studio called "Studio des Grands". Let me tell you, my darlings, I was absolutely floored by this class! Every single move, every step felt incredibly inspiring and the other dancers were some of the most talented individuals I've had the pleasure of working with. I even managed to nab a few insider tips on creating a more elegant arabesque which, honestly, is absolutely priceless! I also discovered a little gem in a nearby back street - a boutique that specializes in gorgeous, vintage-inspired ballet tutus and ballet-inspired clothes! I am beyond ecstatic, especially since this delightful find was conveniently situated across from a bakery.

Later, as dusk settled in Paris, painting the sky with breathtaking colours, I made my way to the Seine, where I admired the cityscape illuminated with shimmering lights, twinkling reflections dancing on the water. As a treat, I purchased a crêpe from a friendly Parisian street vendor, relishing the warmth and sweetness while gazing at the Eiffel Tower glowing with Parisian glamour.

Evening: Ballet Performance at the Opéra Garnier

This evening, the legendary Opéra Garnier played host to the world-renowned Ballet de l’Opéra de Paris, and believe me, this show was every bit as enchanting and unforgettable as I’d dreamt! From the exquisite stage set designs, the stunning costumes to the truly breathtaking performance, my eyes were glued to every second of the ballet, entranced by the beautiful art form. Every delicate step and captivating gesture held me completely captive, and it felt as though the dancers themselves were weaving their magic throughout the auditorium, captivating the entire audience.

Fashion and Foodie Adventures

I found a few moments in my busy day for indulging in some fabulous Parisian fashion, and shopping adventures! From wandering the stalls of a vibrant market for quirky Parisian trinkets to indulging in a little high-street browsing at chic boutiques on the Avenue Montaigne (and let me tell you, the Parisian style is phenomenal!), my afternoon was filled with the delights of shopping. Later, as I savoured the flavours of delicious macarons and chocolate pastries, my inner gourmand was completely satisfied!

I'm so grateful for the opportunity to live this beautiful Pink Tutu life, sharing my passion for dance and my love of travel with all of you! And if there's one thing I hope you take away from this week's post, it's that Paris is an absolute paradise for anyone with a love for the arts and beauty. And as for my Pink Tutu adventures, they are just getting started. This is only the beginning, my dears!

*Stay tuned for next week's post from Paris, as I continue to explore the enchanting corners of the City of Lights! *

Until then, stay chic, embrace your inner ballerina, and remember, the world looks much brighter in a pink tutu!

Bisous, Emma 💕✨🩰
