Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Post #307 - Saturday, 12th November 2005 - Paris, Oh La La!

Hello, my darlings! It's your favourite tutu-clad adventurer, Emma, here, bringing you the latest Parisian escapades straight from the City of Lights! This week, I'm hopping on board the EuroStar, that magnificent pink beast of a train (if you're reading this, EuroStar, a pink carriage, please! It's my birthday wish!), and whisking us off to the land of croissants, fashion, and, of course, ballet.

Paris, as always, has cast her magical spell over me. I arrived at Gare du Nord in my new tulle-tastic Parisian number (a delicate pink chiffon, with layers upon layers of frills, a true Parisian statement!), and the cobblestones under my feet practically sang with the excitement of adventure! The air is filled with the smell of fresh bread and laughter, the streets buzz with chic Parisians rushing about, and the Seine whispers tales of romance and history. It's almost too much for one pink tutu to handle!

Theatrical Treasures:

First things first, I headed straight to the Grand Rex for a most spectacular performance of "Romeo and Juliet". It's truly magical seeing those incredible ballet stories unfold, the drama, the love, the heart-stopping artistry - all brought to life with so much passion! It was pure, unadulterated bliss! I was completely entranced by the ballerinas' movements - their grace and agility, the exquisite artistry, it's a joy to behold! I felt every emotion, the sadness, the hope, the yearning for love… It’s a timeless classic, and this production didn't disappoint, I couldn't stop thinking about it long after the final bow.

A Feast for the Senses

A delicious lunch at "La Parisienne" with the most delightful views of the Seine followed. My chosen dish was a simple salad, topped with the most exquisite, crispest, fresh-picked ingredients I’ve ever encountered - it really is something else. Paris seems to have a special knack for making food, well, food. It is truly an artform, every single bite, a delicious explosion!

A Whirlwind of Shopping

Later, I found myself in the beautiful and grand surroundings of Le Bon Marché, which just had to be seen to be believed. Oh, the possibilities, darling! It’s a shopper's paradise. I'm talking exquisite designer pieces, stunning jewellery, breathtaking fragrances... oh, the sheer joy of it all!

Of course, no Paris visit is complete without a trip to a patisserie. Oh my, what heavenly treats are waiting there! Pastries like edible works of art, delicate, airy and so perfectly crafted. I just can't resist indulging in the sweetness of life - a macaroon or two and a fresh pot of tea. My, how divine it all is!

Dancing my way into the Night

Later, I joined a ballet class, it's truly something else! In a small, intimate studio, tucked away on a side street, I joined a group of dancers. The instructor was kind, patient, and most encouraging, and it was absolutely delightful. It truly felt like I'd discovered my tribe of fellow ballet enthusiasts.

Now, as I sip a cup of café au lait and reflect on my whirlwind day, I’m struck by the way Paris inspires and captivates me. Its art, its history, its magic – it truly leaves its mark. The streets feel like they whisper stories and secrets, beckoning me to explore every corner. My pink tutu twirls in delight as I anticipate all that awaits in the coming days.

So, darling readers, if you are ever lucky enough to visit the city of love and ballet, be sure to do the following:
