Pink Tutu Paris - Post #310 - Oh, la la, Paris!

Bonjour, mes chères lectrices!

This week, I've taken a little trip to Paris, the city of lights, the city of love, and, let's be honest, the city of fabulous fashion! It’s all pink-tastic and simply divine! I flew across the channel on the Eurostar, so chic and elegant, and let me tell you, my pink tutu stood out like a beautiful bloom in the railway carriage. It’s amazing what a bit of colour and confidence can do to lift spirits!

The Parisian air is electric, full of anticipation and excitement. You can feel the energy pulsing in the streets, hear the murmur of excited chatter and the clatter of stylish heels clicking along the pavements. Every window seems to be a stage, with displays of haute couture, delicate jewellery, and decadent chocolates tempting passers-by. The aroma of freshly baked pastries wafts in the air, a symphony of delicious scents that makes my stomach rumble with excitement!

I've already packed my schedule full of beautiful experiences, each one chosen to tick a box on my Parisian to-do list. It's going to be a whirlwind of a week!

Ballet Bliss:

Firstly, the ballet! You can’t go to Paris without seeing a show. Tonight I’m going to see Swan Lake at the Palais Garnier, the world famous opera house, with its ornate interior and awe-inspiring architecture. This theatre has a rich history, and it just wouldn’t be Paris without it! Imagine, for one night, being transported back to a different era. I just know this ballet will be utterly stunning! The performance is expected to be as divine as a dessert at Laduree, and as elegant as a Hermès scarf. It’s an absolute must, don’t you think?

I am determined to see the very best Paris has to offer, to experience everything that makes this city unique and inspiring. But first, we need to talk about outfits…

My Parisian Pink-Tutu wardrobe:

Packing for Paris, well, let’s just say I didn’t leave any pink tutu at home! My bag was bursting with everything a ballerina traveller needs. First and foremost, I need to feel comfortable and fabulous. We're talking delicate layers of tulle and luxurious satin, accessorized with intricate beaded belts and fluffy feathers! Each outfit is designed to bring a little magic to the city, to reflect the whimsical beauty of Paris itself. It’s all about finding a perfect balance between classic and modern, traditional and adventurous! I must share a couple of my favourites with you:

  1. "Parisienne Pink": My signature pink tutu is naturally taking centre stage in Paris. But it's got a new twist, darling! A sheer, flowy ivory silk top with delicate lace accents. Paired with my beloved ballet shoes, this look is elegant yet effortlessly Parisian, a dash of old-world charm with a hint of whimsicality. I simply cannot wait to walk the cobblestone streets in this ensemble. It’s so très chic!

  2. "Cafe au Lait": For daytime explorations, I’m loving a vintage beige beret paired with a chic off-white cashmere cardigan. It’s casual yet refined. And of course, what better way to complete this outfit than with my beautiful blush-pink tutu peeking out from under the cardigan. The vibrant pop of colour is unexpected yet perfectly balanced, and I guarantee, you won’t see this style anywhere else! It's truly one-of-a-kind, just like Paris!

  3. "Moonlight Waltz": For my Swan Lake performance, I'm planning to wear something special, something breathtakingly beautiful. Picture a shimmering, light-catching midnight blue tulle tutu, as soft as velvet. With this ensemble, I’ll look like I've stepped straight out of a fairytale. My look will be topped off with a delicate crystal hair clip, the kind that will sparkle under the opera house chandeliers. Swoon!

These are just a few of the pieces that will be joining me in the city of romance. There are also a few fabulous surprises hidden within my luggage, so stay tuned for more sartorial delight in my next Paris posts!

Bonjour Shopping!:

No trip to Paris would be complete without a little retail therapy. You simply can't resist the charming boutiques and glamorous department stores. Whether you are a vintage treasure hunter or a haute couture connoisseur, Paris has a shop for you. I've made a little list of the shops I'll be exploring. Each one holds its own unique charm and fashion-forward appeal!

  1. Bon Marche: Located in the elegant district of Saint Germain des Prés, this department store is an institution! From luxury fashion houses to smaller, independent brands, they've got everything!

  2. Galeries Lafayette: A Parisian landmark, the Galeries Lafayette is famous for its breathtaking art nouveau dome and luxury shopping experience. From high-end designers to more accessible labels, there’s something for every taste!

  3. Les Puces de Saint Ouen: The sprawling antique market known as Les Puces de Saint Ouen is an absolute treasure trove. This is a great place to find one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, and where you could potentially unearth a charming pink tutu hiding amongst the countless curios. Just picture it…

  4. The Rue Saint Honoré: This street is an undeniable hub of Parisian chic! With flagship stores of leading fashion houses like Chanel, Dior, and Louis Vuitton, it's a haven for those seeking luxurious accessories and high-end fashion!

Where will I be?

Here in Paris, you can always find a cosy café with an enchanting view, perfect for observing life pass by and taking a break from your explorations. So naturally, my little diary has plenty of cafés listed, and here’s a taste of what we’ll be experiencing.

  • Café de Flore: A famous intellectual haunt, frequented by artists, writers, and thinkers. Their elegant décor is perfect for afternoon tea with a spot of people-watching!

  • Les Deux Magots: Situated across from the Café de Flore, this iconic café offers the same artistic charm and a traditional French café experience.

  • Laduree: An absolute must! This enchanting tearoom is famous for its exquisite macarons and tea time ambiance. Think delicate pink hues, exquisite pastries, and an abundance of French elegance! My tummy rumbles just thinking about it!

Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without visiting some of its iconic landmarks, and this trip I’ve scheduled in some breathtaking views of the City of Lights. I can’t wait to soak in the energy of Paris, exploring each landmark as a fairytale waiting to be unfolded.

  • Eiffel Tower: It would be criminal not to visit the iconic Eiffel Tower! Every Parisian knows that this majestic structure deserves a special place in your travel diary. I’ll be enjoying the city lights from the top. Don’t worry, I'll keep my camera ready for an endless array of picture-perfect opportunities!

  • Louvre Museum: An art-lover’s paradise, home to some of the most famous paintings in the world, including the iconic Mona Lisa. It's also a magnificent architectural feat! Just imagine those artfully lit rooms…

  • Notre Dame Cathedral: The grand and awe-inspiring cathedral, its intricate architecture, is truly captivating! There’s no better way to discover Parisian history and heritage than by taking a trip to Notre Dame!

I must confess, the energy and enthusiasm here in Paris are contagious. Each Parisian street corner promises a new adventure, an encounter with a little piece of Parisian history. It’s already a truly special experience. But my adventures have only just begun… I’ll be sharing my discoveries with you, my lovely pink tutu readers, each Saturday. Join me next week for more exciting posts and magical moments from the city of light!

Au revoir, for now!

Emma xx
