Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Post #311 - Saturday 10th December 2005 - La Ville Lumière!

Bonjour mes chères lectrices! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, back from a whirlwind trip to the City of Lights – Paris! Oh, darling, I was positively giddy with excitement. Remember when I told you I was going to get back to my roots, you know, embracing the classic tutu? Well, I really did. My darling pink tutu got a complete makeover - a fresh wash and a touch of Parisian flair – a little diamante trim here, a touch of sequined ribbon there, just the ticket.

So, let's get right into it, shall we? You know I can’t possibly start without sharing the highlights of my journey, right?

The Journey - EuroStar Adventures

Imagine me, darling, perched in my corner of the EuroStar, pink tutu a bit squished but oh-so-proudly present. The train whisked me through the English countryside, and then bam! The Channel Tunnel! Talk about magic. Emerging in Paris, all those classic buildings and the feeling of history - pure enchantment!

A Chic Chateau with a View

Darling, let’s be honest - my pink tutu wouldn't be complete without a chic backdrop, right? So naturally, I settled on the most gorgeous little hotel – a quaint, charming château with the most magnificent view of the Seine. Can you picture it? Imagine the soft light hitting the water, sparkling as if diamonds were scattered across the surface, all set against the Eiffel Tower gleaming like a beacon in the twilight.

A Day of Artistic Adventures

First things first, darlings - a visit to the Musée d’Orsay, simply divine. My head was practically spinning with Impressionist masterpieces. Van Gogh, Manet, Degas – oh, the artistry! You know how much I adore Degas’s ballerinas - pure inspiration! Seeing his works up close just solidified my dedication to ballet.

Stepping into a Parisian Fairy Tale

My first full day in Paris included a trip to the Palais Garnier. The Paris Opera! Pure theatre, pure elegance! It felt like stepping into a fairytale - grand staircases, plush red velvet seating, and exquisite gold details everywhere. I simply couldn't believe how stunning it was! But wait for it... a secret little treasure, tucked away in a corner of the Opera House - a dance studio, oh darling! I knew I couldn't resist, so naturally, I took a class. A little tutu twirl and plier amongst those elegant Parisian dancers… divine.

Tutus, Turrets and Très Chic Shops

The afternoon was all about indulging my Parisian fancies - window shopping, of course! I must say, the boutiques around the Champs-Élysées are simply divine. I couldn't resist buying a little something special for my darling pink tutu – a new feather boa, all blush pink and delicate. The shops are just dripping with chic, elegant fashion – darling dresses, fabulous shoes, and some exquisite vintage items. Oh, you can be sure that my eyes, my camera, and my bank account got a proper workout!

Dinner à Deux - French Indulgence

Ending the day with a delightful dinner overlooking the city at a quaint restaurant with cobbled streets. I shared a plate of steak frites with a French friend, just delightful and so very French! You know I’m no stranger to the Parisian life! My friend talked about French politics and shared the stories of Paris and her experiences as an Parisian. All so very chic.

Catching a Show - Lights, Camera, Action!

Parisian nights, my dears, are for theatre! Of course, my trip to Paris wouldn’t be complete without seeing a show. So, I enjoyed a beautifully staged musical performance at the Théâtre du Châtelet - absolutely breathtaking. I’m sure you’ll agree.

Back to Reality - A Farewell to the City of Lights

After a short but incredibly stylish visit, it was time for my homeward bound journey. I bid farewell to the charming French countryside with a bittersweet feeling. Paris is a place that truly captures the heart – a city filled with passion, creativity, and a certain je ne sais quoi!

So darling, remember the golden rule - always embrace a little pink! I hope this Paris trip inspires you to live out your tutu-wearing dreams! And as always, if you’ve had any exciting pink-tutu-filled moments, don't hesitate to share!

See you all next week, Your beloved pink-tutu ballerina,

Emma
